Sudden Long Loading Times ???

In 1.3 and my current vanilla 1.4, load times after a save typically take 2-3 seconds. Suddenly, load times are creeping up and are now at 45 seconds. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

Are you talking about load time for SH4 or load times for save games?

Are you going to your home port and starting new patrols or just rearming and heading out again?

Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm talking about in-game saves. Up from 2-3 seconds to now 45 seconds. Thanks.

45 seconds sounds execssive.
I have had longer loading times after saves (but not that long) and I always thought it was because there was more information. The game has to update all locations of ships you have sunk and place them on the map. It has to load the status of your torpedos, how many, what tubes their in, fuel levels, battery levels, ship damage. Any ship you damaged but may still be close enough that they can be chased down, so the damge on those ship has to be correct. Number of merchants left in the convoy you just attacked. Location of DDs hunting for you. Objectives completed and objectives not completed. Messages you have recieved have to be put on the log. Well, you get the idea. I may be wrong but that is what I figured was going on with the longer load times.

In my experience the more objects in your area the longer a saved game takes to load. I can load fairly quickly alone in mid-Pacific, but in the San Bernardino Straits with a 25 ship task force in sight it takes a looooong time.

Mystery continues...load times are back down to approx 15 secs which is fine. Thanks all.
