Hi gentlemen,

I purchased SH4 just when it came out, and played very little because my computer back then couldn't run it very well. I think i remember playing past the first patch though, which had solved many issues. Then I slowly drifted away from the game...

However, I would like to get back to the game now with my new computer (just had my first baby with my wife  and have several weeks off work. I thought that between all the changing diapers, washing clothes and not sleeping, the slow rythm of a game like SH4 suits this well...)

Anyhow, I am abit bit lazy and I was wondering if any of you guys could fill me in on what are the latest patches and must haves for the game now, and where I could get them.

I can tell you now that I am not a hardcore subsimer, but I like realism, so I probably don't need mods to have super AI or AI aggressiveness, I die easily enough already (I play with basically everything on realism except I like the external cam to look at the pretty graphics!).

Thanks in advance!

Ian

First things first Congratulations to you and your wife:up:

use the link in your start menu to visit the ubi site for the
last plain patch for shiv which was 1.4 you wont need any
other patches from prior to 1.4.

the shiv u boat missions expansion pack is equated as the
current and only 1.5 patch all later patches and additions
will be on the shiv UBM 1.5 platform.

as for mods most folks though not all are using either
Trigger Maru (TM) or Real Fleet Boat (RFB) visit the stickied development
threads for these in the shiv mods workshop to find out what
they are all about regarding game play.

finally campaign wise the most popular independent campaign
layers are the Run Silent Run Deep campaign mod.(RSRDC)

the above are very very often played overtop of the fabulous
environmental mod series by the late LeoVampire called
Reflections on Water (ROW)

read carefully to find what you want in the above mods theres
many other mods new and old but those are the current biggies.

Regards and Congrats again.

Hey thanks for this information guys. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks for the congratulations.:D I guess that operating on so little sleep will add to the immersion factor of the game!!

In so many online communities I would have gotten flamed for not using the search function by myself, but the fact that I got very nice and detailed answers here shows the strenght of this forum and site. Thanks.
