In case you're wondering (though I'm sure no one is) why I've not showed up lately at subsim... I'd like to tell you that I just put my hands into IL-2 Sturmovik, and being a total airplane nut, I'm really fascinated with this sim...
The fact that I can only sit by my PC on my two free days (which I need to share with my wife as well), and that this sim is taking me so much time to even start learning the basics, has driven me away from SHIII a little bit.
I just felt like I had to thank this community for all I've learned from it, and all the good laughs I've had so far!
And in the end, let you know that I'll always come back to the Atlantic! If my fellow Kaleuns are willing to welcome me back!
Ahoy brothers!!!
Good hunting!
Have a good experience with IL2, it's a great sim. But don't forget neither your wife nor the subsims  ...those are the two things you always end up returning to ;)
Don't keep your wings level for too long :arrgh!:

Thank you all mates!
Short story: I downloaded Hyperlobby with the idea of starting some On-line experience with my IL-2.
While at the chat room, I asked if someone could give me a direct link to download the latest game patch... and someone didn't have a better idea than saying something like: "You can download them at noobi.com" (reference to Ubi.com) I sent out a lowercase "lol..." and suddenly thought "Geez... I'm sure that would not have been an answer at Subsim.com" so I left On-line flying on my "To-do" list.
I really love this community and hope to come back soon!
S!

You should PM Dowly or Hunter ICX about online flying. They amongst others here on SS use the GWX TS server for voice comms when they're flying.

As long as your flying for the Luftwaffe and giving us U-Boat commander vital air cover, we don't mind.
There was a actual Luftwaffe Ace who transferred to the U-boats. He later reached Captain of a U-boat, name escapes me at the moment, I'll track him down.

Remember this basics if you fly on FW 190: Keep your speed high and avoid tight turns, fight with your energy (telling this from my long IL2 expirience).
Good hunting Tomcat!
