A tourist attraction? Watching them carve up fish? There's one helluva idea for a romantic first date - "Um....er...I was thinkin'....you wanna go get covered in fish guts with me?" If there are people weird enough to queue up to watch (and smell) that, I don't blame the Japanese for not wanting them around.

So what do you do with something that big? The Mrs would get a little pissed finding that in the bathtub.

On the long range boats out of Sandy Eggo, fish are flash frozen on board (not cleaned.. Mexican Fishing Regs prohibit cleaning fish at sea!). So.. when you get back to port you have solid fish.. there are processing companies that are waiting at the dock.. they take the fish, thaw and filet it (or any thing else you specify), vacuum seal the filets and send them to you.
The trip that I caught this fish on I only kept 8 fish for the whole trip (18 day trip!). The total weight of my 8 fish was approx. 1100 lbs.
You wanna clean 1100 lbs of fish!?? :o
