Please check the realism settings you usually use when playing Silent Hunter 4. It's very important to know how you play it and what things are implemented and you don't use.

PS: the poll only allows 10 options.

I run with no stabilized view but with external view on. Count me as half a check on option 10!

I also run with swdw/LukeFF/kv's New Real Deck Gun for a wonderful destabilized deck gun that I find still easy to shoot. Cuts your hits in half (roughly, with practice you can get better) and slows your rate of fire and is a lot of fun to use.

I run with everything checked except manual targeting (I gave up with it :damn:), no map contact updates, and no external view.

I run with everything checked, except for manual targeting, and sometimes i uncheck external views.

You really should have seperated stabilize view and no external view. I don't use external view, but I do use the stabilize view option.

I usually run with everything checked except "No Map Updates" and sometimes "Manual targeting".

Manual targeting is something ill do every other patrol when im not feeing LAZY.

The one option i never check is no map updates. I hate the amount of information the map gives you, but i can't handle not having it at all. (hence existance of map mods)

You've done about everything that is possible with the nav and attack maps within the hardwired ability of the game. Ideally something would be plotted only if imaged by radar or ranged with the stadimeter, and then plotted with the inherent error. That could be done without requiring the player to pick up tools and pencil and actually draw the line. But you have to work within what the game allows.

I think TM with map updates on is more realistic than map updates off. That's pretty high tribute to what you've been able to accomplish in taking the blatantly unfair out of those maps.
