When you figure it out, let me know. I know there are some great tutorials here, but I cannot get it for SH3 or SH4 after MANY attempts.

Welcome and good luck with the targeting. I did it for awhile and found that from 800m it's hard to miss. But couldn't hit anything farther away than that. :nope:

Welcome vonpritz, your boat and men are waiting and ready!
Psst... about manual targeting, you can always fake it and make the WO do it. When it's time to fire at the ennemy, just pretend you're busy, like tie your shoe or go to the bathroom. ;)

Welcome aboard and good hunting kaleun, sink them all!

With regards to manual targeting i strongly recomend the OLC ui mod, makes manual targeting easyer and a bit more historicaly accurate.

I can't remember the last time I fired a shot from greater than 700m.

In perfect conditions (flat water, good visibility, correct angle) I can get a MOT hit at 1000m - but then conditions are rarely perfect.

In the late war, I will sometimes fire a long-range spread at the side of a convoy, preferably at overlapping targets. But then it's not so much calculating as it is hoping to get lucky. :D
