Just thought I would share an experience I had.
For a while I thought, "oh I miss having a puff" and "Oh I'd really love to smoke a Don Tomas about now" and "I only used to smoke on a weekend, where is the harm?"
In short, how am I going to cope?
LAst week, I was in town and there was a few things I experienced that really really convinced me to keep mine lungs pure.
1) There was this woman, she was middle aged, but she looked absolutely minging and it was clear that years of smoking had took their toll on her. Her skin and hair looked ****.
2) I actually got near enough to said woman to catch a waft of smoke into my general area and my immediate reaction was... "ewww" Seriously!
She was smoking a menthol cigarette and I actually was quite partial to menthol cigarettes so for me to recoil and go "ewww" I cannot help but think I have turned a corner.
And questions like the above no longer fill my mind.
Good on ya, sis! It takes a lot of guts to quit, but the results are worth it. Just for one, look at that magnificent beer gut I have grown since I quit! (Just kidding.)
Best of luck!
So you joined us ex-smokers, you do know you just upset Gordon Brown who now as to put another 1p on cigars.
Phase one complete now you got to stay off them for life. :stare:
Congratulations. :yep:

I gave up smoking cigs few months back after 20+ yrs of puffing my lungs out, but i still love the smell of tobbaco smoke I dont think i would ever hate it. I may like the smell but im not tempted to want one.

OH MY GOD... who wears a YELLOW button on a SILVER hat, I mean honestly people. Jesus Christ, I thought we had more taste on this forum, but it appears that I was VERY wrong... very wrong, indeed...
And congrats, Penelope, on quitting. I'm going to need an experience like yours to give up cigars, but I don't think it will really do much given the current circumstances.

Remember our bitter conversation some months ago, Pen? Nevertheless, something good has come from it! Congrats for having become clean! :)

:up:Glad to see you doing fine, penny
as you knew that I quit smoking around the same time (September '07 after 4 yrs of puffing away) and meself I'm doing very well, was very nice in the begin to have someone (you) who was doing the same thing quiting the bad habbit, the supportive conversations on teamspeak where really helpfull.
had less issues with the ''Why did I quit'' thing, but when I have it...I just tell myself ''its not worth it''
I dont bother myself with smokers when they are around me, but I slapped me face when in a Restaurant and there was a smoker next to me...Discusting!!!! that smell almost ruined me apetite:nope: but I remember doing the same when I was a Smoker so :damn: stupid me.
ah yes, and the money saving is good too.
