Why does it make sense to wait a few sec after firing a torp? I wait about 5 sec using Mark 14. Is that good? Before sending the next fish, I adjust the spread angle 1-2 deg.

TIA!

In real life they waited about 8 seconds between torpedoes so that they wouldn't interfere with each other on the way to the target.

I don't know if this is modeled in the game, but in real life there was a good reason to wait between torpedo shots.

The Mk-6 exploder had an anti-countermining device. This feature prevented a torpedo from experiencing a sympathetic detonation as a result of the nearby detonation of another torpedo. This feature disabled the firing mechanism of the torpedo for five seconds following the detonation of a predecessor. (pg. 72

This may account for the delay of 8 seconds between shots.

I would also imagine waiting some seconds would make it easier for the diving officer to maintain proper periscope depth and not risk broaching.

Yes, they have to compensate for the weight change in each tube. Also, there is a chance that a torpedo not running true will hit another one.

Did you know that guns in multi-barreled turrets don't fire at the same time, and for the same reason? Except the separation in their case is measured in milliseconds.
