I forgot to bring my SLR to work. :damn: :damn: :damn:
Oh well, it's dull and overcast anyway. Guess I can always wait to the next SQ A380 flt arrival into LHR. :-?

Too bad! I know how it feels - maybe you remeber my last year's posting about the old Junkers at Münster airport - and me leaving too early so I missed the opportunity to make shots from takeoff... :dead:

What do you want to bet there's no extra comfort on that thing. Cram more seats in rather than make the existing one's better for us tall folk :shifty:

Airlines can configure the aircraft however they want. I know for a fact that SQ have given economy class passengers more legroom which you tall folk will appreciate. :yep:

More legroom is always pleasent! Nothing worse than been crammed in like a sardine in a can. The A380 is a really impressive aircraft, wonder if the days of the 747 are coming to an end?
How many units has Airbus sold now? Because when I was watching a TV show about the development of the aircraft they were worried about the lack of interest.

From 2010 on they will produce 44 A380s per year, at least that is the production capacity they planned until now.
The current order state means nothing positive or negative, it still is the starting phase. the cheap "discounter carriers" will mark a major decison on wether the A380 will be economically succesful or not. If they embark on it in sufficient numbers, the normal airlines cannot afford to ignore the immense passanger capacity of these planes. And no other plane gives you so many passangers transported for your buck. After a trohbled and delayed start, in the olong run there is little reason to be pessimistic, I think. The freighter version is something different and saw many cancellations, due to delays in production. but here, Airbus still can turn out to be the winner, but probably not in the medium time range but only in the long run.

I can't wait to take my first walk inside an A380 freighter but they are a long way off.

Tomorrow morning will be the second time I've flown with KLM, and I have to say, their Cityhopper Fokker (:rotfl:) was very comfortable, even for me at 6' 7". I also sat in the smaller Airbus with relative comfort, though an extra legroom seat (which I've hopefully bagged) would be preferable. It was because of this I couldnt sleep on the flight and had to watch crappy movies and play Tetris for 8 hours
At least there was beer. :rotfl:
