Early - Mid `42, GWX 1.03, Sim-Feeling, RadioLog_Expanded. Home base: Brest.
So I get a radio msg detailing U-461 is on station and available, cool. Check the map and sure enough she's there.

Change of pace would be nice for patrol #18, but even still the American coastline is a poke for a VIIB without a resupply. The deal is, I can't seem to get out of BE! Last 7-8 (I forget) patrols could be asigned to AL, AM, CG .. for all that matters. I plot a course and like a magnet BE is there, and so are convoy reports and occasional singles to boost renown.
BE has beccome the Tequila of grids, the taste & smell, the efflorescent attraction, greedingly draws my cold-blooded crew to it. It even beats chocolate cake. Since I ironed out a new tactic U-47 no longer fears convoys, and often finds herself picking out the best tonnage right from within the columns. Although escape & evaison is getting tricky. Starting to favor the electrics. Even the early homing 20knt eels can produce. Which is why resupply from wherever is ok, like Max A. for example, and an asigned grid is almost a joke. Might as well patrol just outside the harbour for 24 because I doubt I'll reach it. You hear the scuttle butt at the night-club about more happy times since Operation Drumbeat. Those crews must be bored and like to burn fuel.
