Where should I dock?

Running GWX 2.O, First flotilla type VII b, it was July 1940 and France had just fallen,I was south of Ireland and didn't want to make the trip back up around England to Kiel to resupply when I knew the base would be moving soon. So I resupplied in Vigo Spain, I was awarded the renown for the patrol but coud not award medals or promotions because I was not in base. So after I resupplied a month passes by in the Spanish port before the next patrol. I headed off to the BE grid to make trouble. Now its September 1940 and my fuel is good but I need to resupply ammo, Attacked the same convoy 2x with good results. The problem is my orders under briefing still tell me to return to Kiel. And Ive never recieved a radio message saying the base was change to brest/ Only that a new base was available in brest. I want to dock in Brest but I don't want to miss out on recieving medals again. What should I do?

I was in the exactly same situation, actually entered Brest on the same day German lland forces did (I was in a hurry as had extensive damage. ) From what I remember got medals and promotions both in Cadiz and Brest.

You do receive medals in Vigo or any other supply boat base for that matter....in fact the only action you can't perform is upgrading your boat.

Try SH3 Commander and that will automatically set your days at the supply boat to 1 (plas an additional day for every % point of damage you sustain).
