Im clueless as well, At first i thought it was a custom type VII at 1:42 it looks like the type VII tower with a sheild welded on but after I noticed the sides of the boat Im at a loss. I thought it could be Italian but after further reveiw its definatly German in desighn

If memory serves me correctly it the boat at 1:42 was one of the foreign boats operated by the ubootwaffe, looks like the U-A originaly built for the Turks. The one at 1:36 most closely resembles the UIT-23 to my eyes.

The sub at 1.42 is the UA - Turkish Batiray

You posted on it MM.....I'm suprised you didn't give the answer http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/1817/thinkbigsw1yo4.gif
What hats are the crew wearing aboard the sub at 1:37? I see red bands going in the center, around the hat. Like a soviet hat, you know those dark blue officer caps with the red band going around.

I'm no good at identifying ships, but I'd like to thank Gimpy117 for posting this. I've never seen all that color footage before. I love the torpedo loading scenes at the beginning. Some things I did notice:
00:45 The dive sequence. We see the diesels being shut down, then the e-machines being started, then the ballast vents being opened.
02:39 A quick shot of a crewman manually adjusting (apparently) the gyro angles on the tube.
03:30 'Onkel Karl' himself in a strategy session.
03:55 A good shot of the engine telegraph. What kind of boat is it from? It doesn't look like any of the in-game ones, yet I've seen photographs and the game ones are correct.
04:00 It's amazing what you can do with special effects, even in 1943!:rotfl:
04:11 An 'un-boxed' regular stopwatch.
04:27 Boat surfacing. The water coming from the vent-holes looks awfully fake. Is there a mod for this?
04:35 "Thomsen!"
05:41 Nice quick shot of the boat fading away as it dives.
05:45 Good shot of a real recognition manual. Not much like any game one, ever; but that one would take up the whole screen, so...but still, no angle-views, just pictures.
06:00 Damn periscope handle's stuck!:damn: Is there a mod for this?
06:08 Another excellent shot of the engine telegraph.
06:45 Good underwater shot as the boat is surfacing. You can't even see the conning tower from 10 feet away.
06:53 Nice shot of some heavy going.
07:45 Interesting model work, but I don't think the real thing would break in half that easily. And yes, I've seen the footage of the destroyer with it's keel broken by a homing torpedo; don't think that's what happened here.
Again, thanks Gimpy. Great find.
