Gentlemen,
Is anyone aware of anyone who could build a 20' working model of the USS Drum. We need it for under water and over head shots. We've got the ability to do great CGI. But we'd rather use a model. I still think the original Star Wars models beat any CGI to date.
Let me know.

Well, I don't know of anyone who can help (I'm struggling with the 1/72 Gato myself :)), but I just want to say, as a model builder, I appreciate your desire to stick with real models. I agree completely, CGI has it's uses, but the real thing always looks better to me. I wish you the best of luck, and I can't wait to see the finished product!
Hi CL
There is quite a big band of RC sub modellers some of which are scratch built here www.scale-models.co.uk (http://www.scale-models.co.uk). See also the U-Boat ''Mylo'' Hall built, this thing absolutly dwarfs the 1:72 Revell U-Boat. Click here If the 1/72 U-boat is too big for you... (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=125265)
Hope this is of some help,
Sav.

I too say that models are the way to go. CGI has its place, but old-school has more character.
I hope ya find someone to make the model!
