I have been contacted via PM by one of our community members.....William Munny. He is experiencing difficulty in obtaining a copy of GWX2.0, mainly because of the limitations imposed on him due to the constraints of a dial-up connection.
He resides in Virginia (USA)....would someone be kind enough to send him the GWX2.0 file on DVD.
I have absolutely no problem with helping our friend myself, but suspect someone nearer to him will be able to get the disc to him a lot quicker.
If someone will be kind enough to help, please PM him and announce your good deed on this thread.
This will inform me of the fact and mean I will not need to follow through with sending a duplicate disc.
Thanks folks in anticipation of your kindness.
Good luck William http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

As generous as people can be here, by the time this is all over, Mr. Munny's only remaining question will be, "Just what do I do with twenty GWX DVDs?". :p

Where in Virginia? I'm in the Va Beach area.
Very nice and quick response. Our community in action! Makes me proud to be part of it. :D
Yes, this community is great. I've done the same things with mods for Falcon4 (ie. Superpak 3 and 4) for people with slow connections in that community.
Always nice to help someone out who would do the same for anyone of us.

Gosh, I'm such an idiot. I didn't realize there was a thread here about me.
I want to thank everyone so very much for coming through for me. I'm in a very rural area of Virginia which only has dial up still. The fastest I EVER connect is 31.2Kbps. When I tried to download the torrent I had 555:xxx:xx time and it would keep kicking me off.
Every single person who I contacted via PM was first rate and extremely kind to me. I've never witnessed anything like that before and all of you have my absolute most sincere thanks for your kindness and help.
I apologize I did not know of this thread before, but I am very thankful.

These kind of things reminds me that there still is good forums in the internets.
This community is the best community I've ever seen or joined.
I would have sended you over the post the burned GWX 2.0 I have.
But due to the fact that I live in Finland(!) it would take looooong time before the milk cow would reach your position.

Thank you Platapus. I received the files today. I thank every single one of you for the kind words and offers.
Jimbuna, sir, I assure you I will have no complaints. I have a lot of learning to do. I used to play SH3 when it first came out, but I had a HD failure and no back ups. I went a long time without playing. All of this is very new to me as my last time of playing previously was during rub1.3 or something like that. I am so appreciative of all of the SH3 communities efforts.
I don't know if this is appropriate, and probably not much worthwhile, but I made by altering two files my own officer icons that perhaps someone would like. I will paste them here. I deserve zero credit other than altering two files; Ailantd's Das Boot officer mod and Tikigod's Das Boot loading screens. I think I followed the ethics of giving credit where credit is due, I only changed the Chief, the Exec, the Navigator and the Radioman. If I did wrong I will remove it immediately.

It absolutely is appropriate. It has become your thread, and as far as I'm concerned it's more than welcome. Of course I have no more weight here than anyone else, but I'm betting they all feel the same.

Hi Steve, if you want it I can email it, or, if someone tells me where and how to upload it I would be happy to. Thank you for your kind words. I remember you from when I first got SH3 when it came out. You taught me a lot then.

After avoiding it for seemingly forever, I recently tried FileFront http://www.filefront.com/
It's easy to join, easy to upload and easy to use. And, it's FREE! Barring having my own website I wouldn't use anything else.
Or, if you want to e-mail it to me I'll put it up. Just say the word and I'll PM you my address. Full credit to you, of course.

1001 Tube 1 fire.
1002 Target pulls out of storm blindness. It is merely a small coal tender. Hit; midship. Massive explosions.

1158. Contact. Three warships. Bearing 310. New course 290. Speed Full Ahead. To Periscope Depth. Crew on Battle Stations.
1205 Warships on course from West to East. Plot intercept. New course 0. Warships long range.
1300 According to current plottings, we are not closing quick enough for a night attack. Decision; surface.
1308 Surfaced at Full Ahead, new course 30.
1340 Dive to 25 meters for sounding.
1350 Checked plottings; surface again.
1357 Surface, heading 40.
1415 Dive to 25 meters.
1420 Navigator and I are concerned with current soundings. I believe we have made an error or enemy has changed course. Enemy sounds to be bearing down on us, not from West to East, but Northwest to Southeast.
1443 Enemy sighted via periscope. One destroyer, two auxiliary cruisers. Due to earlier error, we will take them on in unfavorable conditions. We appear to be undetected. No pinging heard. Flood tubes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Ahead slow course 10.
1453 Fire Tube 1 and 2. Dive to 70 meters.
1454 One hit. We hear many explosions from target that we hit.
1458 We are pinged! Rig for silent running, turn hard to starboard. Course 90. Continue to slowly dive. New depth 120.
1459 Destroyer makes run, but we hear no depth charges in the water and no explosions.
1505 We have heard the 1st auxiliary cruiser sink HMS Alcantara, 13,850 tons. Destroyer continues to make runs without dropping ashcans. Other cruiser remains making slow circles around us.
1508 On a hunch, I secure from silent running and order men to reload tubes 1 & 2. We are louder than hell. Destroyer pings on constantly and makes another run without dropping any ashcans. I am convinced he is either not equipped with depth charges or is empty from a previous engagement. I am quite emboldened.
1509 Order new depth 25 meters. If I am wrong I will have killed my entire crew. If I am right, I will attack 2nd cruiser. The men are determined; though I’m sure they question me. I joke that the English are in quite a pickle.
1521 At periscope depth. While moving to periscope depth we moved into position to attack cruiser without using scope, while being ultra careful that destroyer does not go into a run while we are in periscope depth, thus ramming us. Tube 3 and 4 flooded destroyer off of stern turning toward us it sounds.
1522 Tube 3 and 4 Fire! Dive to 25 meters.
1524 Both miss. We are already reloading. Destroyer makes another run with us merely at 25 meters. Our instincts scream in fear but we know the destroyer has no depth charges so we stay in defiance. Momentarily I think of how the destroyer commander must feel with no way of getting to us. The Exec and I openly question why the auxiliary cruiser stays around us instead of running away while the destroyer keeps us submerged. He continues to make 360 degrees around us while we reload to send her to the bottom. It does come to us that perhaps they have called in the neighborhood but we hear nothing but the two above ships.
1557 Again, verifying the destroyer has just made a run and is off our stern too far away to make a run on us, we are at periscope depth. I am determined not to miss. Tubes 1, 2, 3 and 4 are flooded.
1558 Periscope up and determined aiming. Machine gun fire begins to splash in my vision. I remain consistent on aiming. Tubes 1, 2, 3 and 4 Fire! Alarm! Dive to 70 meters.
1559 Four hits!! Massive explosions.
1602 Ship is clearly sinking. HMS Queen of Bermuda; 13,850 tons.
1604 Destroyer makes lots of noise, but can do nothing. I believe the Captain is likely stamping his feet.
1610 Depth 120. Rig for silent running. Course 200.
1629 Destroyer circles, but makes runs in wrong direction. It appears he may have lost us.
1631 We are pinged twice.
1643 We are pinged twice again.
1646 New depth 140.
1721 Enemy sounds to be leaving the area, heading east.
1751 We can pick up no sound of destroyer anywhere.
2235 Secure from silent running. Secure from Battle Stations. Order to Periscope depth.
2254 Observation scope reveals all is clear. Order to Surface.
2257 Surface. Set course 270. Ahead Full. Crew is jubilant and singing songs.

Yes, I do need to be more aggressive, lol. I knew I would get in trouble for returning to port with my stern tube still loaded. I can't seem to hit anything with tube 5 anyway.
Talk about good luck, I could not believe I ran across those auxillary cruisers escorted by destroyer with no depth charges. If it had not been for that, I believe I would have had a rather dismal first patrol.
Does anyone waste torpedoes or giving away their position by sinking a small coal tender? That was a blind shot fired before he broke through the storm. I felt stupid for that move.
I also felt stupid by miss plotting the course of the aux. cruisers where they had suddenly bore down on me with no real choice but to attack in such favorable to the enemy conditions. Had that destroyer had depth charges I think I would have died in my first combat.
I felt really good about my other attacks, however.
Upon returning to base I went to a store (online) and bought three new versions of Blues In The Night; Artie Shaws, Ella Fitzgerald and my absolute all time favorite performer Cab Calloway and added it to my already very extensive Cab Calloway collection. I also broke out my own collection with Louis Jordans Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby, Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens and Stone Cold Dead In The Market. Also while ashore I'm picking up my daughters favorite; The Andrews Sisters.
Is anyone here a big fan of XM radios 40's on 4? I listen to it as often as I can. I love it.

We get it for "free" on DirecTV. I'm also installing it on my 34' Scarab III when we go out in the Chesapeake.

There are also free Shoutcast "stations" that play music from 1920-50. You can access the streaming feeds with Winamp or any media player that supports Shoutcast, such as the open source VLC Player.

Who do I thank for adding the USS Cyclops in Greywolves? I hope so much to find that ship. What an incredible addition. Seriously, when I saw that in my identification book I was so happy. Fantastic addition. Such a beautiful ship, I hope one day it is officially found. I also hope to find it before my torpedo tubes, too, ;)

They may just put me back. So far I've been on Patrol 2 for 19 days (15 with winds at 15 meters) and all I have to show is 5 less torpedoes for 2 merchants and 4,211 tons. I used to be able to put a torpedo right where I plotted, but I continually misjudge now days. I like that. I feel this is much better (whether it be Greywolves influenced or just that I have played since 2005 or 2006).
Ah! Another Chesapuke stink-potter uncovered. Good patrol report. :D
Yes sir, I patrol the Chesapeake every summer. Has anyone taken a U-boat in the game up the Chesapeake yet? If so, how far up did you get? Naturally I'm going to try to do that...just waiting to get a IXB around the latter part of 1941. Back in the original SH3 I got sunk in a type IX right of the Virginia Eastern Shores.
Thank you all kindly.

I think it would be hard to single one person of the team out. Someone would build it, then someone else would work out the damage areas, then another would skin it, then someone would script it into the game etc. etc.
I don't mention any names for fear of attributing the wrong area to anyone, but needless to say.....everything in GWX is usually a team effort http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif

Are you dial up :hmm:
yamato9
03-19-08, 03:09 PM
Iīm not on dial up connection, but i dont have a Flat transfer limit.
My internet provider rip me of for everithing when i exceed over 1gb of transfer and i think that he steal "impulses" becuse when i open few pages(lets sey 10 pages) my transfer counter shows that i spend about 12 to 20 mg(i think that this is a little high). So GWX is over 1gb end realisticly i be able to DL him in two months but then i will not be able (in thos two months) to post no more of few posts here and on BtS, and i can forgot any other net surfing especially here when i look for screenshots and new mods. OK i got maybe better terms for DL of GWX than some others who are on dial up, but two months of keepeng my posts "shut" and no surfing via SS, BtS and other sites (not to mention that i need to upload my new works) is a little to much.
Here is tehe exsample: my counter resets evry 15th in month (15. 03. 2008) is last reset, and now is 19 in month. do you kno how much "impulses" of file transfer i spend? (refering on counting of my internet provider) OVER a 120megs and notice that i DL only 20mg of some files and i leave few post here and on BTS, this is by my opinion too much for four days, and where is 15, 04 to wait new reset.:hmm:

Quick question concerning Cyclps, Nereus and Proteus...will I be likely to find them anywhere in the Atlantic at sea, or are "scripted" to the areas they actually were at sea (and lost).
I would love to have an unescorted runin with them. I would probably take a few thousand screenshots.
The Cyclops was such a beautiful ship.

No problem. The only problem I'm currently seeing is the US not liking me sending off a DVD internationally. But then, I doubt it will cause any problem considering its a few Mods for a game.
I tried using the US Postal Service website, and it was saying that basic shipping could be around $11, or up to $60 or $70 for overnight and express  I'd be interested to see what the CRO-PO says now.
If the postage isnt that bad, I'll take care of it. If not, I'll set up a Paypal account.

Hello Sigurd!
Well, unfortunately Croatian post office replied me that ONLY person who send shippment(you) can pay shippment expenditure and i only can pay custom duty(toll) if any (but they think that the toll will not be needed here). I checked Cro Post office shippment cost "from Croatia to US" and basic shipping(without express or aircraft and similar) package "weight up to 1kg" is around 161 kn (1 USD = 4,7 kuna) so that is about 34 USD. If package (up to 1kg) is shipped via aircraft+express then price is 217kn (46 USD).
Now because I canīt pay yours shippment, i will pay all expenditures on your account number(Paypal or similar).
