The following is something posted elsewhere on the internet by a friend at battle-fields.com.

The following is a result of a conversation a colleague and I had about the latest Type 45 Destroyer to begin build, HMS Duncan (http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceNews/EquipmentAndLogistics/WorkCommencesOnNavysNewPowerfulWarship.htm). Quote:
We were discussing the new type 45 Destroyer, Duncan, and thought the name lacked punch. Following a quick look at the historical list, I think we should count our blessings.

There are some real classics there:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Blonde

The less than bunch:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Bluebell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Geranium
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Marigold
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Dainty

The positively camp:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Doris
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Flirt
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Tiptoe
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Frolic
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Spanker
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Nancy

The just downright odd:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Badger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Biter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Arrogant
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Pickle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Trump

HMS Haddock is listed but does not merit its own page

The very intriguing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Happy_Entrance

Again, no individual Wikipedia page for it but the winner is… the rather sore sounding HMS C**kchafer

First think I did was wiki the flowers, but I don't think any of the above ships are flower class.

Ah, quite right.
The list of Flowers I found must have been incomplete.

Okay.. for the next naval sim with drivable British ships I am undecided wether I want to be the Captain of The Pickle or The Spanker. Each of those ships appeal to me in some way for some reason.

No individual page, but it is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insect_class_gunboat

Number 4 on the list.

I've always loved the Insect-class gunboats.
