I scanned the topics, and did a search. I did not see anything regarding this. I cant seem to find any info regarding the calling in of air support or descriptions of the "hero skills". If anyone know, please advise. Thanks!
If you press F1 ingame a info screen comes up

I only have two "heros" onboard my U-178: Jens Peters, who is a "Quick Escape" & Tobias Dresner, a "Propulsion Expert". The Propulsion is a passive ability, though. You enable either one by clicking on the icon that looks like a sailor's head.
Strange thing about Jens, about 1/3 of the time he will totally empty my compressed air reserve. But I can still surface later when necessary. He must love emptying the tanks into the sub to clear the air or summin.. :|\\

Im wondering if "hero skills" are only assigned, or can officers and pretty officers gain them through experience. Im hoping they gain them, or can be granted them at the award/promotion screen.
Also, I found out that calling for air support is as simple as clicking on the airbase icon and dragging a line out in the direction you want to search.

I've had an officer (German rank 10) that has not gained any hero skills as of yet and I'm on my 4th patrol, averaging about 40k in tonnage. Quite a few of my sailors have the medals and whatnot. I found an officer in port whose hero ability was to reduce dud torpedos, but I was short about 1000 prestige. What a great guy he would have been. :stare:
Yep. Later, you'll get to assign ships to vector into an area just like planes. I dont know what, if anything, happens after that, but I'm liking it.
