OK
We have been clearing out a container and found something that was delivered to us by mistake and been sitting here since June last year.
Now this piece of kit must be worth at lease £400. Whoever originally ordered it would have got a replacement.
I want to stick it on e-bay as it will get junked anyway.
What are the chances it has been reported stolen?

Depends, are there any identifying marks, serials or plates etc?
Also, do you have access to a UV light?

Well somebody took the financial hit for the loss and therefore it could well be listed as stolen.

Xabba, are you in the UK? IIRC you are.
In that case, you can take it to your local Police Station, get a receipt for handing it in and if it's not claimed within a week (IIRC) it LEGALLY becomes yours. You have more than a fair chance that it will not be claimed.

Sounds like the right choice to me ... :yep:
Remember those old Tom and Jerry cartoons with a little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other one trying
to decide if he should eat the poor little mouse?
That's what your going through ...

Contact the company that sent it by email. Tell them you will send it back to them if they send you postage and handling. Give it 90 days, if you don't hear anything sell it.
Thats what I did. Anybody need an electric fence generator?

Do you feel it is morally right for you to profit by selling something that you did not pay for because it was sent to you by mistake?
Is there a reason why you did not notice the mistake when it happened?
It is these moral questions that define a man's character.

Actually Brad that would be a cool thing to have up at my place in Maine. How much do you want for it/what are its specifications?

You can have it for postage. I've got to dig it out and I'll get the specs.
