:arrgh!: I love this game. I've spent a lot of hours combing the Pacific in search of merchant convoys, battleships escorting large cruise liners, and taking photos. But, how do I find an enemy battle group? I'd love to go up against a carrier!

Ah, another Bilge Rat. Patience is a virtue and a good trait for a submariner. However. It's touch and go. I haven't come across a carrier in six months. But you can check the harbor at Rabaul. I've heard that's where they like to park.

Oh, sure DJFL, you give out my info but you didn't charge him $100. So, now I don't get my cut. Nice guy. Go sit in you hammock and play with your umbrella.:arrgh!:
marcellusatkins,
The way I found out how to have a better chance, everytime I got a report on an enemy task force sighting, I took the ruler tool and drew a line showing the location and direction they were headed. Sooner or later you may see a pattern as to where they are going, and you can patrol that area. Oh, BTW, if you go up against a flattop, the flattop won't be the problem, evading the 8 destroyers that hunt you down will be the problem! :yep: So, practice your evading techniques, and I don't know if you have read this, I got the info from this forum, STAY OFF THE TIME COMPRESSION WHILE ATTACKING OR APPROCHING. That triggers something in the game and the destroyers will be all over you!! I think it's like an anti-cheat. (I don't know if it does in the MODS but it does in the stock game.) Like DJFL said, be patient, grasshopper. (Don't know if you're old enough to remember that comment) Sooner or later you will find one and may even find out that you didn't want to.
This is after an engagement with a destroyer and 2 subchaser. I sunk the destroyer, but I had so much flooding I had to surface. I got them with the deck guns but they destroyed my engines, so "Game over"
Cap'n you might want to hold off on that submerge order, we haven't finished installing the windows yet.

Hey, I did charge him. Whaddya think I am cheap or sumptin'? The bill is in his mail box.
There's no sure way of finding carriers as you're confined to the orders you receive. In stock game I found an Escort Carrier sailing out with a TF at Borneo but that was just luck I guess. Your main aim is to get tonnage and win the war and of course-live.
That's an extra $50 for info. I have to feed Mr. Peabody.:yep:
And Welcom To SubSim!

I appreciate all the help. I am a HUGE fan of the series. There's just something about following a sinking ship into the abyss that makes life worth living!
