Today a U.S. Navy submarine fired two tomahawk missiles into Somalia. The missiles were targeted at a known member of Al Quida. Among the casualties no civilians were were killed. U.S. officials say that the cruise missiles hit their target. That is one less terrorist

Several million dollars of cruise missiles and the result:
Residents reached by telephone said the only casualties were three wounded civilians, three dead cows, one dead donkey and a partly destroyed house

Somalia know about this?
edit - the more I think about this, the more I realise that "Somalia" doesn't quite exist

Now that's a great way to spend money. :yep:

That terrorist was in the part of the house that got destroyed.;)
That's the problem with missles. You have to rely on the New York Times ability to reach local "residents" by telephone in order to get a Bomb Damage Assessment done.
That terrorist was in the part of the house that got destroyed.;)
Oh come on, they already killed a donkey, few cows and injured some civilians, wouldnt it just follow the pattern better for the terrorist to have been in the part of the house that was left intact? :88)

If you call me by telephone i'll tell you i am the King of England. That don't automatically make it true...

Not necessarily if it accomplished the mission. Nobody there is going to say "Hey you got him!" Nice neighbors wouldn't say that. If it didn't get him but scared the crap out of him it disrupts him and gives him a case of the nerves. So either way it sends a message.

True, but statements from officials are always reliable?
Sigh, I miss the times when everything in the media and from the government was true. Hold on ... that would make me older than time ... and media ... and government.

I remember when Clinton sent some Osama's way we got the same reaction. Granted, we missed the meeting by a few hours.

It was a uranium-powered stealth donkey with kung-fu grip and a freakin' laser beam on it's head. I think the expenditure of two million-dollar cruise missiles more than justifies it's destruction.

Soon, we'll start hearing our "official sources" in Somalia telling us how our attack only killed innocent civilians and the numbers will keep going up depending on who the "New York Times" talks to. :nope:
It's just like when the Iraqi prime minister was on Iraqi TV telling everyone that the US was launching attacks against civilians and everything that moved, and also that Iraqi forces were pounding the US forces into the ground while we were rolling into Bagdad.
They don't like us in Somalia so they're going to tell stories..and I don't think we're going to hear the true damage assessment from the US government any time soon either.

But the truth must be out there....somewhere:shifty:
I think if you look at the facts, there is only one conclusion.
Fact A: The terrorist in question is in fact a man who once sold the great nephew of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia some fake XXX movies in a million dollar scam.
Fact B: the Crown Prince is a major (but secret) shareholder in General-Dynamics under the psudonym "Dikc Cheney" (the confused spelling has so far gone unnoticed as most assume it is a typographical error)
Fact C: Profits from General-Dynamics have not been as high as hoped.
Fact D: No one knows anyone who actually lives in Somalia.
Fact E: The up-to-now unexplained abundance of semi-burnt pornographic images around the blast site
It is all clear. The tomahawks were fired to boost sales of more tomahawks, and therefore increase profits from general dynamics. the crown prince's great nephew (liasing with the USN) chose the target in order to have his revenge on the conman. Furthermore he clearly took the opportunity to stuff several copies of Playboy magazine into the warheads of each missile to make his point clearer. And finally who cares what happens in Somalia? Several birds with one stone, so to speak.

The CIA has just reported that the donkey was actually the terrorist in disguise.
