Oh boo. BF games have been recycling ideas like crazy for some time now anyway, and now they're recyling Team Fortress 2's gimmicks as well :shifty:

I'm a little skeptical. But I guess I can't complain, it being free and all. But I'll stick to my TF2 for cartoony action for now, thank you.

I have played every Battlefield except 2142, im sure I will play this as well

BF1942 is still the best of them all however

I've read about it sometime ago. The quick answer is in-game ads.

Couldn't get into 1942. It's no fun when one guy gets targeted by a bunch of bombers whenever he stepped outside.

Honestly, in game adds are no problem, as long as it's not pop-ups, (which I daresay there won't be any of, or DICE is rather goofy).

I love this idea. Read it in a swedish eveningpaper some time ago. They wanted to make a game that is accessible for the little younger audience too. I love TF2, and I don't see a reason to have to choose between them.

But I doubt any game can compete with TF2s wonderful humour!

Standing around like a bloody idiot!

Ditto...from what I saw of it, 2142 wasn't even worth thinking about parting with my cash. Of the ones that I've played, BF2 was the best while BF: Vietnam was the worst.

Reading about EA plans on another title of theirs, Spore, they'll include not only advertising, but the main avenue is that any and all upgrades at all will be sold. So you can play the vanilla version for free, but likely if you want the avatar to look any different, it's a dollar there, a dollar here, and if they market it right, they'll more than make up profits for not just selling the game.
