View Full Version : 1.4b patch wont load

I had to reload sh3 today. Downloaded the 1.4b patch but when I tried to run it a message told me that it could not run because:
C:\sh3.dll: file missing
any suggestions or would be really appreciated.

Delete the file that is named and the install should go fine.

:hmm: Reinstall SH3 then try the patch.
Strange error report as the sh3.dll should be in SilentHunterIII program folder and not C:\
If all fails, I can send/upload a copy of the sh3.dll file but I suspect something else is amiss and possibly, other files are missing too.
EDIT - Are you Vista or XP?

ok game & patch installed ok.
unable to locate file F:\Silent Hunter III.msi flagged up at one point??? but we got there in the end. just tried again. all ok. Thanks again for advice:up:

What Patch and what version of SH3 do you have?

This is usually caused by using the wrong patch. I'd start by checking to see if it's the US or EMEA version. Both can be found here:

Áfter almost an hour of searching, first thing that seems legit.
Just checked, and i have the US version even though im swedish.
Didnt think it would make any difference, but apparently it does!
