View Full Version : R.I.P Boyd Coddington
Apparently.
Used to watch the show on sky every now and then. Didn't always like the cars styling, but the engineering was always great.
pitty.
You guys over the pond hear much of this?

Hiya,
If it's true he's passed away t'is sad in a way
I did like the cable show of his american hotrod, then again that wayne/dwayne ? could never figure his name (i'm going deaf you see) seemed a over-employed lazy bully gobshyte but maybe in rl he was a decent guy
I now watch now n again overhaulin, I see some of boyds staff jumped ship to foose and who could blame them really as he seems to embrace ideas and skills instead of feeling threatened by them (the guy wayne/dwayne)
Well sad as it was a watchable show that i think still runs over here across the pond
Adios
Def
Dang it Jumpy lol, I thought you was an american cousin asking us lol
PS: Jumpy for gawds sake please don't watch the uk pimp my ride, It will make you cry or cringe
^^
lol
I've seen that show a couple of times and it was bloody awful hehe. Yer, pimp my Ford Escort, or pimp my Rover 214 :rotfl: try a wikepedia entry for those vehicles and you'll see what I mean.

He never pimped escorts or rovers that I recall. It was always Americn muscle cars and Deuce coups, old timers, etc. You must be thinking about X-ibit and Pimp my Ride:roll:
Yer, I was refering to the UK version of the show 'pimp my ride' not american hotrod.

He made his name by winning the award "The Worlds Most Beautiful Roadster" at the Oakland Roadster Show.
Bob Villia raced Tim Allen in a Home Inprovement episode also in that car.
Coddington had a HUGE industrial park in OC but lost it all due to bad management and business sense.
Such a loss. He designed such cutting edge Rods.

The yellow car in that episode was a Coddington creation? That's interesting. I always thought it looked like the Plymouth (now Chrysler) Prowler.

Nope. But I saw a beautiful silver Prowler yesterday while at the hospital. It cheered me up.:)
