I go to see the Waratah's take on the Brumbies in the rugby Super 14's this coming Friday night. Saturday morning I'm up at 0430 to go fishing on the Hawkesbury River then home to watch what ever is left of the V8 Supercars. Then Sunday off to Eastern Creek to watch the V8's live!

If the wife has no objections I'd be wondering what she has in mind for that weekend http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/621/thinkbigsw1.gif

@nikimcbee & Bookworm_020 It hasn't happened yet. It's my plan for this coming weekend! I'll let you know how the fishing goes when I get back. If it's like the last time the only thing I'll be catching is rays and I'll be coming home with a belly full of beer.:arrgh!:

Upcoming weekend says tar, not the one just passed..:D

Given the performance of several drivers last weekend and the fact tar went for a spin a coupla weeks ago, methinks me may be in with a chance of racing this weekend!

LOL where do I sign up? I watched the Clipsal 400 on Sunday and some of the driving was diabolical. It wasn't much better in the NASCAR races I saw on the weekend either.

So barring Baggy's shagfest, what would your ultimate weekend look like given the chance to plan it?

I didnt say that! its all jims fault!

perfect weekend would have to be, a quiet night at the pub with a few mates friday, umpire at the SCG and see the swans reserves team lose a match (bastards are undefeated in 3 years), then head straight to the beach with the boss lady for day of sun:sunny:

Are there going to crocodiles where you're fishing?:gulp:

No way! They all live in the tropics, unless they are in a zoo. There are sharks though so I won't be too keen to go swimming.

So far it's shaping up as a good one! The Waratahs finished on top of the Brumbies 24 - 17 in monsoonal conditions. Despite the wet weather I was well chuffed with the win.:D

The fishing trip was pretty good this morning too! We set off at 0500 and got the boat wet by 0630. After a nice half hour cruise to a spot just south of Dangar Is, we dropped the anchor and baited up the hooks. Pretty much from the first cast we were getting bites but nothing came up for about 20mins when my mates 11 yo son hooked up a legal sized flathead (just). For those who don't know the flathead is one of the nicest table fish you can catch in an Australian estuary.

5 mins later it was my turn with a nice sized tailor which was a keeper. :D

My mate hooked up less than 2 mins later with a much bigger flathead than his son's. We kept pulling in some smaller one for the next hour and a half before my mate hooked a monster flathead on his 2kg rig. It came up giving a nice fight but we didn't take a landing net with us so when he got the fish alongside, he had no option but to pick it up by the line which snapped just above the hook as the monster's head came out of the water. We reckoned it must have been at least 4kg.

A bit later I bagged a reasonble sizzed flathead myself. We kept at it for till about 1130 when we decided we'd go an whack the fish on the BBQ and have some lunch before going home.

The fish tasted great! just a bit of butter and lemon juice sqeezed over them, wrapped up in foil and then straight onto the BBQ. Yum.

Anyway off to Eastern Creek tomorrow to see the V8 Supercars. only one thing could cap this weekend off and as usual I'm ever hopeful...:hmm:

I hope your's is going as well as mine is so far!:sunny:

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Wasn't great IMHO

The Brumbies lost to the Waratards. The Force blew another close match against the Crusaders.

The ferry timetable on sydney harbour was screwed around by some boat race, with all other public transport out this way being shyte and me being carless (doesnt matter, Sydneys road system sucks).

The NRL season hasn't yet begun. And I realised that the Storm's only game in town for the first half of the season is when I'll be back in Melbourne, how ****in ironic.

At least the Melbourne Tigers went one game up in the NBL finals series. If they win the next game back in M town then the title is ours
