I love how he tried to deny the event.:rotfl:
Seems the Irish still shouldn't be noted for their fondness of the blacks.:rotfl:

Bill O'Reilly = bad taste.
I think most Irish people would appreciate not being associated with a loud mouthed moron like Mr Bill O'Reilly.

Not the people or Ireland themselves. No, they have much better taste than fans of O'Reilly could ever show. I'd never degrade them on the same level as this imbecile.

It's in our Constitution.
Jeez
lynching party is a turn of phrase. No one would have batted an eyelid if he'd said "witchhunt" or something. Just an inopportune choice of words.

That Irish people have to be associated with Bill O'Reilly?

I agree; O'Reilly is technically guilty of nothing more than a poor choice of words. That said, given the context and the object of the statement, it was a very poor choice indeed.
Oh, and think the title of this thread was also a poor choice of words. O'Reilly obviously used the term "lynching party" in a political context. He may be guilty of stupidity and/or intentionally stirring the pot, but he did NOT advocate literally lynching anyone.

The opposite, it's an Article of Disassociation :)

Better yet, we throw him into a crowd of gay, Protestant Englishmen and allow them to take control of the situation.

It is easily understood that he did not mean it litealy, but due to O'Reilly's standard way of going about things he was definatly trying to stir something up.

God, I never in a million years would have though I would ever come to back up Bill O'Reilly but I have to.
It was, at worst, a poor choice of words.
I can not, in any way, imagine anyone interpreting his words to mean he wanted to lynch anyone. As a previous poster stated, Lynching party is the same as witchhunt in that he was referencing a group of people out to "get" someone.
It was a poor choice of words. Bill often says stupid things.
There is much to hate about Bill and what he says, but this is a non-news event

Bill is a disgrace to the broadcasting field. But then again he doesn't work for a broadcast station he works for FOX NOISE! which is a GOP OPERATIVE and PROPAGANDA commercial.

Looks to me like this is getting blown way out of proportion possibly... The septic/cynic in me is kinda saying if that guy was talking about a white person... nobody would have gone to town like they have.

He knew exactly what he was saying and chose that phrase on purpose to get people outraged. It is his MO and why he has a job on FOX. He wouldn't have used "witch hunt" because it was not inflammatory enough. Look people are talking about him.

Actually, there would have been a call on line 4 from the Wicca Anti-Defamation League had he done that. :shifty:

Have to say he looked a total dork in the other picture of him when he was younger, yet this one years later he damn well looks good for his age. Especially with all the pressure he would of gone through the last 10yrs.

This is another example of how the American media makes much to do about a poor choice of words. There's something else to take into consideration. Obermann and OReilly are on opposiing networks, so of course MSNBC is going to pounce on a FOX prime time personality. This typical American Left vs Right. I personally don't care for either personality or their viewpoints.
