The new Tokyo express mission has got me interested in installing SH again, but before I install I would like to know If the bugs have improved with recent patches.

I believe I used to play up until after the first, maybe second, official patch before I couldnt take any more of the bugs.

The main bugs I had a gripe with were:

1. The Time scale feature on the map slowing down my machine, rather then making the time go faster.

2. Ship and crew randomly getting injured.

If you could tell me if these bugs have been fixed i'd be very thankful. :D

I did not have any of the problems you mentioned in any of the patches, so I suspect your hardware, mods or installation may be at fault. Even though the current patch 1.4 is a whole different game from 1.1, I doubt you will like it any more than when you played based on your problem. I play the stock un-modded game with great satisfaction.

Regarding your issue #1 - I'd strongly suspect your hardware. That certainly does not happen on my rig, with stock or any of the patches. What cpu do you have and how much RAM? I routinely transit at up to 4096x TC with no problems.

Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT
Processor : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory : 1024MB RAM

probably did'nt explain bug two properly but any time the ship had a collision it would'nt repair the damage, from what I can remember this was quite a well known bug.

I'm pretty sure it isnt my hardware because apart from some well known bugs it ran brilliantly.

Thanks for the replies, looks like the only way to see the changes is too find out for myself. :)

Patch 1.4 did fix a number of things. That said though, I would not be surprised if your time compression issue was in part due to the 1GB RAM you have - that's a bit light for SH4. Even though the specs recommend 2GB, I noticed better TC performance even going from my original 2GB to 4GB, so RAM can be a real bottleneck.

My 2.2GHz Athlon XP 3200+ can't handle more than 2048 TC while keeping the FPS above 10 (not to slow down the machine).

By not repairing the damage, you mean the holes don't disappear OR that the damaged parts don't get repaired in the Systems screen?

Well installed and everything was fine up until I used Time compression, cant go past 2500 mark before my fps dies.

About time I got some new ram :D.

Thanks for replies, much appreciated
