I wish we could experience this "winter" you all speak of here in Texas.

I prefer Texas winter to Mid Atlantic winter, getting old in Feb.

I drive about 15,000 miles a month OTR all over the US and I'll tell ya boys, it's been pretty nasty in spots all winter.

[TRUCKER STORY MODE ON]
A few weeks back, was driving on UT-191 up though Moab, about 30 miles south of I-70. My rig was about 78,000 GVW, heavy, which is good on bad roads. I'd already creeped across I-70 from I-15 south of SLC on a mostly unplowed interstate all the previous night, whiteouts and such the whole way...

Anyway I turn south on UT-191, doing about 25mph when the whole truck just starts sliding to the right, towards the shoulder. Except their ain't no shoulder on that stretch of road, just a nice big ditch for water run off. No salt or cinders on the roadway at all.

Sphincter Pucker Factor: 10+

The road has a slight "crown" to it, and was so icy, there was hardly any friction. I was able to correct the slide and creeped at about 10mph for awhile until the road got better...

Although Seattle had record snow in the mountians and some flooding near the Oregon coast, this Winter has not been any worse than most. Perhaps even milder than most. We've had 55+ deg F days the last week with lotsa sun. Even got to see the eclipse (which is rare for Seattle.) Trees are starting to bud.

Lately in Colorado it has been in the 60's, very suprising as it is winter in COLORADO.

Earlier this month the high was 0 degrees F. Lots of groaning about that around here. Gotta love the Minnesota winter. Not so much snow this year, though. Today the high was 38 degrees F. People were walking around without jackets as though it were spring.

Complaining about the weather is a pastime here. When it's 90 in the summer, we'll complain about that, too!! :rotfl:
