I am looking for the sim Silent Hunter IV - Wolves of the Pacific - version I.
It is listed as 'out of stock' at Go-Gamer, where I usually buy my games.
The hard case DVD, without the map and Manuel, is available...but I want the map and Manuel.
Did I wait too long to get this sim?...Is the "version I" out of stock, "forever"?
Let me know, I can take the truth..:damn: ..I'll buy the bare DVD if I have to....am I waiting for the 'deluxe' version I for nothing, is it no longer being published?

Looks like a great sim....I'd like to play 'catch up', but I need the game to get started  .

I got mine thru Amazon just over a month ago (ok, maybe a little longer than that) and it came with the IB (useless, even as TP) and a keyboard layout card, but no map. I thought I read somewhere that the deluxe edition with the map was only a Euro release.

I was afraid of something like that.
I really do need the manuel, and I'd like the map, I need all the help I can get ;) .

If it's no longer available, I suppose I'll have to settle for the bare DVD.
I'll give this post another day or two before I lay my cash down, just to be sure.

If anyone knows where I can get a 'deluxe version I', let me know.
Thanks.

I got the version with manual and KB shortcut layout at Wal-mart for $20 just a few weeks ago.
I wouldn't get overly distraught about not having the map, with all the guys finding good info and posting it for dl.
The manual is really of no big consequence either if you just do some thorough reading in these forums.
Good Luck!

I got my version of SH4 from Newegg.com.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832138027

only in mid-December last year. And lookie there, it's out of stock now!

Anyway, it is the version like the picture there shows "Bonus Material Included, see back for details" complete with keyboard layout, big manual, and some other junk.

Best Buy has copies on the shelf for $19.99 American some places.

If there is one close just visit their website and see if your local store has a copy.

Great news guys, thanks!
At least I know it's still out there, I'll find it.

Looks like a great sim, I really liked SHIII, a new boat, missions, and new scenery should be enough for another year or two of interesting sailing. I'll be at the dock here, hanging around, till I get a boat. Maybe I'll pick up some good scuttlebutt.

If anyone finds it available let me know. I don't do business with EBay, but NewEgg, and any reputable game store I'd be willing to give up my credit card info to. Please keep an eye out, if you find version 'I' available, let me know.

As others have said, don't worry about not having a printed manual. The PDF version on the disk is useless enough without wasting paper on it.

Seriously, the manual and maps included with the initial version of the game are all but worthless. They now reside in a box in my room under ten tons of miscellaneous crap. You are definitely not missing anything.

Yea, I'm hearin' more and more of that.
Guess I'll settle for the no map version.
It's supposed to be in stock at the Best Buy near me, about 60 miles away. Not too far, considering I'm living in the middle of a northern Michigan forest. I'm thinking of picking it up tomorrow. The gas is 5x more than shipping would be, but I'd have it tomorrow night.

Yup:arrgh!:.

ETD; 1900hrs tomorrow night.

Sorry, Manuel is no longer available, but I heard his cousin Jose is in the add-on.

...:know: ...I obviously wouldn't know how 'shiny' the map is, unless I saw one. And Jose`, I promise to 'check' my spell checker from now on. Wow, you guys are 'cool'.

Re-calibrate your humor-detection meter, and I'm sure you'll have a fine time here. ;)
