Hi guys

Been playing SH3 +GWX2 for a couple of months
My card(Nvidia 6200 Turbo) was beginning to struggle so went and replaced it with Nvidia 8600GT :D

On first load of SH3 it played great(No card setting input from me)..No 50/50 chance of game loading etc(into academy, single missions etc) with enhanced effects looking great,no nasty streaks across screen, periscope as fast round 360 degrees as possible (if you haven't taken 30 seconds to do an all round observation....you won't know what I mean)
Actually looking forward to resuming career

I'm NO EXPERT at G/cards etc

On second load....
WTF....
When is "The moon...The Wolf " going to appear...
Why has desktop altered to approx 800x600 pixels whilst waiting on loadscreen
Why has submarine scene(game load) gone like a Psycodelic painting
Why haven't I seen the selection screen since first load

Computer spec
Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz
3GB RAM
450 PSU
NV 8600GT card

All fairly recent purchases(apart from Pentium) so I should be playing Everything full on.....shouldn't I ? ? ?

I'm assuming its Nvidia setting.....so a couple of pointers /examples of what others are running would help...or advice on where I've gone wrong would be welcome

Thanks

Fully remove the old drivers.

Reboot.

Install the latest and most current drivers for your card.
(FYI, if you have already done this, there is prolly leftover files from the previuos driver. IIRC, nVidia have a driver removal tool available)

Thanks danlisa:D

Looks possible.....friend who replaced card definately DID NOT remove fragments of previous driver...just uninstall through display properties etc then install through disc accompanying G/card.
Might not even be latest driver

I'll do as you suggest when I get home

lo maddysad

danlisa probably right about the driver thing but check the nvidia icon in your system tray and fiddle about with the resolutions etc....my nvidia card (an old fx5200) can be a bit tempremantal mate.....the answer is there as im sure if your old card can almost cope then your new one should chew sh3 up and spit it out!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
