I don't know about Knight Rider but if you click on the chicks at the bottom of the screen you get better movies.:D

I'm not even going to watch this new edition.
@ The TV execs! Do not fool with possibly one of the greatest TV series of all time.:stare: I grew up with the Hoff as Micheal Knight and nothing will supersede that.
Jeez, why not remake Baywatch while you're at it. Meddlers!!!

"Okay, the car is talking and it knows my name. You mind explaining how it's driving by itself?!"

Honestly I was immediately turned off by it when I saw they were using a Ford Mustang for KITT. I don't have a problem with the Mustang but KITT was a modified Pontiac Firebird. They should have found some GM equivelent to fill the void. I know that with the new Camero coming out that GM is also cooking up a new Firebird. It just doesn't feel right. What's next "The Six Million Dollar Man, adjusted for inflation is now the 60,000,000 man" with the main character being named Steve Houston?
but KITT was a modified Pontiac Firebird
Kitt was a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am or one should say only a Pontiac Trans Am? Never quite know how to designate the model.
Already saw it. Well, It is made like a new action series of now! I think a bit more tribute to the old series would be better. The new Kitt voice area if were the 3 red bars and on the sides 2 red butons and 2 yellow butons, I think that this small things can make a old series (hard) fan like the new one.
And they explain many the scientific stuff, it's cool.
Spoiller:
Kitt did not Turbo Boost on the pilot episode...
And the new abilities of Kitt, like a few...but black is the color and I miss the sensor sound...

Worthless, IMO! It just not the same.

Uh, sorry but the Trans AM is a Firebird.
1982
The third generation Firebirds took flight with three models: Firebird, Firebird S/E, and Firebird Trans Am. The Firebird was the base model, equivalent to the Camaro Sport Coupé; the Firebird S/E was the mid-trim-level version, which could actually be loaded with as many options as the Trans Am; and the Trans Am, of course, was the performance-level Firebird. The Firebird and Camaro had been completely restyled, with the windshield slope set at 60 degrees (about 3 degrees steeper than anything GM had ever tried before) and for the first time, a large, glass-dominated rear hatchback (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatchback). Two pop-up headlights, a first on the F-Body cars, were the primary characteristic that distinguished the Firebird from its Camaro cousin; the Firebird would retain this styling characteristic until the end of production in 2002.
Yes, after putting the thread I went check out and then edit my post.

I like the car, but not the new scanner lights. Should've kept the single LED bar that went "Whoowhoo..whoowhoo"

I also want Mr Feeney to be the voice of that car.

I liked the pilot, and like you the only thing I really miss is KITT's sensor sound.
I hope it will be included in the regular episodes.

There was a sensor sound, but it was quiet. And wasnt the Dr Whoesque classic sound. It was close, though.

Worthless, IMO! It just not the same.
Thats like saying that the new Battlestar Galactica is worthless since its just not the same as the original series. ;)
Ironically the Knight Rider pilot episode is much more in line with the original Knight Rider series then the new BSG is with the original BSG. Is it a good sign or bad sign ?
I think that this pilot has nailed down basically all the campiness of the original Knight Rider and if they go on doing a series I will enjoy it very much.
Just put back the whoowhoo.....whoowhoo sound. :rotfl:
Yes, bring back the whoowhoo.....whoowhoo sound!!! Or the cylon helmet visor sound...:D
Is that talking gay car back?

What's with all these remakes? Are we that dumb that we can't come up with an original idea anymore so we make remakes? What do we need all these writers for if they can't create good material? I have a feeling we will see a remake of the original Star Trek next...........oh wait..........

Nothing is wrong with doing remakes, remakes are as old as the film industry itself.
During the 1930 hollywood (who else :rotfl: ) did remakes of european films on a constant basis for its american audience. :p
Its not like remakes are being discovered in the last 10 years.
And to be honest this new series is not a remake, its more of a sequel.
Some points tie pretty well to the original Knight Rider series, and as sequels go its pretty decent. It has a lot of potential.

I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The actor voicing KITT is none other than Val Kilmer.

I just hope that talking car isn't running on Vista or the guy who owns the car will never be able to get ANYTHING done with all those invasive security features. :nope:
I'm really waiting for some cross advertising in the show. Like the car pulls up and a close up of the liscence plate reveals a sticker that says "Intel Inside".
I didn't watch the show. What happened to the old talking car ? Did they just scrap it ?

I saw the show and I was a big fan of the original but this one looks good.
I was surprised to find out that the original actor that did the original KITT did the voice for this new KITT but thanks to some contract he had with GM and them getting bent out of shape finding that his voice would be used in a FORD, all the voices had to be redone with the new voice.
As for the original KITT, I think it was supposed to be under the tarp in the garage. Though, if I am not mistaken (and I could be), the original series pretty much had the original KITT car destroyed in acid and KITT's system was temporarily put into a much older car.
As for the Turbo Boosts, pop-out spoiler and all the other new touches they put on the original KITT towards the end, I'm glad this KITT does not have it. I thought those things ruined KITT.
This new Body Skin is far fetched but the rest of the show and the car is good. I am so glad it is a continuation and not a remake like the Bionic Woman was. That new series was bad as a remake.

I liked the movie. I liked the original series, too. I hope they make a new series. I think the Mustang isn't a bad choice. The new Camaro would be even better, but if they cannot get that then the Mustang works well. I don't know why people get so bent out of shape because it's the Mustang. I look at it as, like any other company, that they got the best contract deal from Ford rather than GM. Why does FLAG have to use GM cars exclusively anyway? KITT was just a tool and if that tool is better served in a different car then so be it. :88)

It's the typical thing when remakes are done. There is nostalgia for the original, forgetting how at the time it was corny as hell, the acting quite wooden and not just Knight Rider.
I'd say give it a chance, I'll watch it tonight. I saw the first 10 minutes and it seemed pretty good.
I bet if a continuation of Airwolf was done there would be the same comments.

No Ernest Borgnine and Jan-Michael Vincent no Airwolf. :p

I guess if the did a new Airwolf they would need a new helicopter. It would not look right if they had something like Blue Thunder. I think if they used the AH-66 Comanche, that might work and make it a continuation, not a re-make.
