I'm attempting to download a map for the game Garry's Mod (pretty fun) from www.garrysmod.org (http://www.garrysmod.org).

Downloading a file from the site is as easy as clicking on the file name you want, then hitting the "Download" button they provide. Like always, a window appears presenting you the options of saving the file, opening the file, or cancelling the download altogether. Mine doesn't.

Assuming I click the download button, no window appears. In the lower left-hand corner of my Internet browser (the part right above the task bar), a download icon appears (you know, the one with the blue arrow facing downwards at an illustration of your disk drive?) and nothing else happens. It just sits there. On some smaller files (like 2 or three MB ones), they'll eventually finish, and I'll be able to extract the contents.

What's the deal? I'm using IE7 and Windows XP. I have no idea what's removed the download window, either. Anyone have an idea in hell?

It's IE7 because the same thing happens to me but I can do it with another browser. Download Firefox and use that.

You've downloaded so much porn that your ISP has placed a cap limit on your connection. jk

Do a clearout of your cache and review your security settings. Disable any popup blockers :)
