Best patrol ever! Woohoo

after complaining about an absolute sh1tty beatles patrol I started off Corrientes.

As I was not assigned to a specific patrol grid I thought "why not take a lookaround at Gibraltar ... and then head towards BF17/BE39"

While crusing around "the funnel" suddenly my PC starts loading something ... so I got to periscope depth and SO anounces me a single warship coming towards me ... so why not take a look? ;)

Suddenly my SO anounces another warship... and another warship... and another one... 7 warships... not one freighter!

It was a taskforce!

taking a closer look I saw ... WOOHOO ... a battleship... and a carrier! WOOHOO

it was the Nelson and an Illustrious and abunch of DDs

Sneaked past the first DD.... but the second heard me somehow! ... so FULL SPEED AHEAD! and in range of the NELSON... fired a double shot if TIIIs and hit it:

the Illustrious then ran into the wreck and stopped....

EASY Target :arrgh!:

took three torps and finally sank. :rock:
Nelson plus a carrier!

Of course I had to play Tom and Jerry with the DDs... while I was Jerry fobbing the DDs and finally getting the "cheese" :smug:
I then had to pay my price... I was facing 7 DDs (and/or DEs... dunno was at 180m ;) making a run for it.


So I spend 5 torps on the Nelson and a Illustrious giving me 59.000t :rock:

After 4h of zig zagging and evading Depth charges I kept on with my plan and headed to BF17...

I then ran into a BIG convoy with only one Black Swan as guard :
Three Big Freighters : 3* 12000
One Big Tanke: 13000
One Tanker: 11000

WOHOO!

As I had fired my last torp and hte Black swan was not searching me anymore I sneaked away heading towards home... on my way home my WO suddenly tells me:
"ENEMY SPOTTED!"

another black swan... wth? .. and it was burning!

Looks like I was just a tad too late to help out a fellow Kaleun in a dogfight with that Black Swan.

I raised to the surface... manned my Deackgun and shot the Swan! :arrgh!: (took just 4 hits)

What a patrol!

Congratulations on the results!! All my attempts to interecept a task force, even when they're heading towards me and they always bloody dissapear!!!! :damn: :damn:


Still, I just pulled U-50 into Wilhelmshaven to be given the Diamonds to my Ritterkreuz!!! :D

just to make that clear... I was absolutly lucky to stumble accros that task force before Gibraltar ... and I escaped allright :D

Hull 100% (GWX 2.0 94% but SH3 commander "tells" me the hull as imho the Kaleun and LI always knew how much their boat could take or has taken... so I switched this option to on)

I found a task force on my fourth patrol, north-east of britain, it was early 1940. Maybe that helps?
