View Full Version : Docking in Sub Pen
I completed Scapa Flow-sunk tow battleships-got away..no return base was specified at start of mission...so returned to Brest.
Problem:
(a) Pens all seem empty
(b) When I try to enter a pen, even very carefully, I just bump into the end
causing damage.
Suggestions Please ?

First of all, welcome aboard, yflyer. Approach the pen at 3 knots. Stop engines before bow enters the pen (about a boat leght away). You well enter pen at about 2 kts. when you're inside, give it a short burst of slow astern. Your boat will stop.
And if you crash you can read Brags book. ;)
PS: Welcome to the mad house. :D

Welcome yflyer!
A good tip when entering the pen, is that when trying to reach a complete stop, you can right click on your CE 3d image to man his station, and handle the engines telegraph by yourself, hence being able to change the RPM's a lot faster.
And of course, as said before, getting into the pen at anything = or below 3 knots with your engines dead would be fine.
I don't know if you're dockin astern or head-on but if going backwards, be specially careful when giving out rudder orders!
What Brag said!
Also cast out mooring lines (hit escape), or you'll be sitting there forever.
