The programme that they stopped in 2003 and may or may not have restarted.

It's been in the news.

lets see, saudi arabia buys 20 billion $$ worth of weapons from the US
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/28/washington/28weapons.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

America directly gives aid to israel (which is clearly used for weapons , bombs, etc..)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6925643.stm

Israel is to get an increase from $2.4 billion per year to $3 billion per year, totalling $30 billion over the next 10 years. The increase is partly to enable Israel to keep the qualitative edge in weapons that the US is committed to providing. Egypt will have its $1.3 billion per year aid continued for another 10 years for a total of $13 billiion.
Arms sales will be made to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states. These could amount to deals worth $30 billion and will include the latest smart weapons for the Saudis as well as ships for the Saudi navy.

"Israeli officials, who've been warning that Iran would soon pose a nuclear threat to the world, reacted angrily Tuesday to a new U.S. intelligence finding that Iran stopped its nuclear weapons development program in 2003 and to date hasn't resumed trying to produce nuclear weapons....."

wow... reacted angirly.... what so they DO want a war???

"If Israel were to carry out a military action, it would have to be in coordination with the United States, so if the United States is moving away from that option, it would have implications for Israel as well," she said. why does the U.S have to be involved???? after all you do have 300 nuclear weapons and is a member of the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons treaty???... right?:shifty:

I can't take much more of this back and forth crap.the intel community has had a shootout with the WH, that's where their denial of a program - as reported some weeks ago - is coming from. They wanted to prevent to be rolled over with a bus again, like ti was done before 2003 in preparation of the war. Seen that way, this is not international politics, but american innerpolitics. I never stopped thinking that there is an Iranian program just becasue of that US intel report some time ago. Strategically, it doenot make sense for Iran to freeze that program - they are in a strong position.
