View Full Version : Not getting credit for sinking in GWX2.0

I just had one of my best kills. It was a Modern Tanker and I hit it right below the first mast. This set off a spectacular chain of explosions from the bow to the stern. The entire ship became engulfed in flames, it was quite a site, however, I did not get any credit for it. I saw the ship quickly sink through the periscope and that's it, no message "she's going down" or anything. The weather was very calm, absolutely no wind or rain or anything so it couldn't of been that.

Perhaps it was a neutral ship?

But even then the crew tells him the ship sunk, and that didnt happen.
And if u press "k" on your keyboard...is it listed?

happend to me also. It happend in calm water, a moderate tanker neatly hit in the middle and sunk like a brick, I hear the crew say "Ja......." but no sunk message and nothing listed, there goes 4500tons. Seems like a bug.
Either neutral or a zombie. Did you sink its twin in a nearby location?

This is a bug that allready existed in the stock version of SH3. As far as I know there is nothing to do about it.

No it wasn't a neutral, I made sure of that. And I do not recall sinking its twin. There was also nothing about sinking it recorded in the log. Before sinking it, I was engaging a convoy in which I sunk 3 vessels. After disengaging I found this tanker. It's an unfortunate bug, luckily though I had a lot of tonnage racked up by that point in the patrol.
This just happend to me.
Would someone inform me as to what a "zombie" ship is and what is a ships "twin". I assume these are engine shortcuts of some kind that results in creditless ships?

When you sink a ship, after some time (a few days perhaps, maybe hours) it respawns from the place where you sunk it and continues sailing on its marry way. Please correct me if I'm wrong but that's my understanding.

Something very important to remember when starting new careers... as it affects crediting for tonnage:
On your first patrol... do not 'buy' ANY upgrades for your U-boat beyond a conning tower emblem. (Buying upgrades somehow causes tonnage to fail to be credited to the player in many cases.)
The save routines in SH3 are VERY quirky and it is one matter we have no direct control over.
