View Full Version : Automatic time compression drop out
So... 1st ever mission in SH4.
Everything seemed ok, until I got 'ship spotted' in the message log but the time compression stayed at 1026 (so obviously I didn't even see what nationality the ship was)
Is this a known bug or is there a setting someplace?

Are you running stock or with mods?
I asked a similar question a while back. Apparently you'll drop out of warp if it's a warship or a merchant but not a fishing boat (but you'll still get the warning).
Having said that I haven't had that problem since using Trigger Maru and RSRD mods.
If it is an enemy you usually drop to 8 TC, if it is anything other than enemy you stay the same.
I believe there is a file somewhere in here that you can overwrite the stock options to drop you to 1:1 for any occurance.
Thanks for the replies.
Transition from SH3 to SH4 isn't just as easy as I thought (I'm old)
Running TM 1.7.6
and
RSRD3

This is what i did. Following these extremly simple steps will auto drop TC to 1 upon radar detection or visual sighting. Hope this helps.
Go to Documents/SH4/data/cfg/main now change the values marked with a * to match the following
TimeStop=0
RealTime=1
LandProximity=4
CriticalDamage=1
CrewEfficiency=128;1
AirEnemyDetected=1 *
SoundEffects=2
CharacterAnim=4
EnemyDetected=1 *
RadioReport=2 *
Particles=8
PrayState=8
HunterState=32
3DRender=32
Maximum=8192
* = change in value
and make sure to save changes. Now also go to Programfiles/Ubisoft/SH4/data/cfg/main
and make the exact same adjustments and save.
