I tried to use the Shift-I approaching a target but nothing happens. What is it supposed to do?
thanks.

I believe Ducimus only hooked up a toolbar button to that function. I had to connect shift-i with a control tweak I made myself on my installation. I don't have the last update of TM since I'm still at sea since it was issued, so that could have changed.

What exactly is supposed to happen when using that function? Does the ID book go to the appropriate page etc?
thanks,
Hi,
The AI tells you what ship your looking at through the scope... in effect you don't have to go through the book.
In Trigger Maru the button is there but connected to nothing.

Either a button or hot key must be linked to command 343 in the "commands.cfg" file. Once that's accomplished, you must (in game) lock a target and then call the command via the linked button or hot key.
The ID is displayed in a window at the top of the TDC ... and insertion of the target's mast height is automatic. If no target is locked, you won't get the ID.

I thought I'd linked 343 but I'll recheck thanks for the help.

If no target is locked, you won't get the ID.
:hmm: Correction: you do not need to actually lock the target. But the target must be close enough for a lock-on. (Often you can see a target before it's within lock-on range ... in that situation, you won't get an ID.)
You do need to have your scope/TBT pointing at the target, though ... same as when entering data to the TDC. A lock-on simply centers your crosshairs and helps to insure you've sighted the proper target.
