having just got the sim, noticed theres no internal lighting like sh3? rig for red?
also do the lights flicker?

also is there a external sub camera? follows the sub so you can pan around?

also notied a bug where the water effects when you get a blown pipe inside no sound?

water spray..sound?

latest patch installed ..1.4

btw the frame rates are very low as well..on my high end system this is very demanding sim..

apart from the little gripes its good..though, just needs more patches..

External cam is F12 and the last icon button on the taskbar.

You need to have no external view unchecked in options though.

The ROW MODs include greatly enhanced Camera options/flexibility...it's a Must-Have Mod. Also, the basic external camera controls are buttons on the baseline 'toolbar'...the far left one is a totally free camera...you can roam/go anywhere in your 'game world' and see anything from any angle. The button next to it allows you to skip to a camera at each and every ship, with free roaming in the vicinity of that ship.
Or, maybe I don't understand your question correctly?

Got a machine here almost identical.... it pulls no less than 140 frames... sometimes outside the sub it hits 190. Define 'Low Frames' for me please :hmm:

SH4 is not a hog. Not even close to being a hog.

My machine can't play Flight Sim X (5-15 FPS), that's a real hog.

My machine CRUSHES SH4 @ 1400x900 (x4AA, x8AF) everything on MAX (20-36 FPS).

It's time to play "Lets find the bottleneck!" wheeee!

it's either hardware or software... and your hardware surpasses mine twofold. So your bottleneck is probably software. Start with updating all drivers *appropriately!* Then check your runtime environment. SH4 can only use available resources. if something else is using (abusing) your precious resources, you must SQUASH it.

You guys should play Crysis. It'll explode a Super Cray 2 machine. It's a bloody miracle it ran decently on my NVidia 8500 GT card.

Crysis is nothing. After several tweaks and overclocking, I can play Crysis "OK."

No matter what I do, I cannot play Flight Sim X (actually has more DETAIL settings than Crysis--a lot more).

All you folks with KILLER rigs need to pick up Flight Sim X if you want to punish your machine.
