I downloaded this excellent mod. I'm not sure if the enabling order in JSGME matters but I've enabled it as the very last mod. Now, in the game my periscope doesn't look exactly like what I've seen in other screenshots here on the forums. For example the periscope doesn't have that silver ring thing around it, but I understand that it's only active if you have manual targeting (which I don't use) selected in the realism options. Is this right?
Then, in the periscope, the bar that indicates the direction (in degrees) in which you're looking is not red and green like in the screen shot but just black. Does this change to the colored version when night time comes?
I also noticed that I can't see the flags sheet in the attack periscope but they're there in the observation one. Is this how it's supposed to be?
One other thing is that the note pad is no longer available and so I can't tell the range to target or its speed when I have the cross hairs on it. Is there any way I can add this info to the mod?

Probably, but I know I am not experienced enough to tell you. However, OLC's mod was designed for manual targetting and figuring out those things yourself...then inputting them. If you are not using manual targetting, and using the Weapons Officer...then frankly range and speed doesn't make any difference...

I know it's not necessary but I still would like to know it and I think I've seen a screen shot somewhere around here where the person had the speed indicated right below the crosshairs of the periscope.
OLC,
Also has an excellent PDF format manual and a great tutorial you can download. From the sound of your problem it does seem like your install did not go correctly. I know that Manual Targeting must be checked but you must uncheck stabilze view and Weapons Officer NO ASSIST.
Gook Luck!
You may want to post a pic....

To fill in the blanks...

The red/green marks are part of the range/aob finder, which you can't use because you have manual targetting switched off. Have you watched the tutorial video? That will explain it for you. :)
I also noticed that I can't see the flags sheet in the attack periscope but they're there in the observation one. Is this how it's supposed to be?
Yes, that's how it is at the moment. The obs scope is your flag-spotting tool of choice when submerged.
if you have manually targeting on, you can klick on this "silver ring" (tool to get speed/range/aob of target). when you click on it the attack periscope changes the bars to your mentioned red/yellow/green bars.
since you have to add range/aob/speed manually there is no need of a notepad anymore.
flags only at observer periscope : i think its wanted, dont know.
i played SHIII one year ago for lets say a month in arcade mode without any mods and are now playing it with GWX and OLC Jagd Tools and after watching the Video Tutorial its no problem to get aob/range/speed manualy. perhaps just download the video tutorial, watch it and try it yourself with manual targeting :)

Thanks guys. I'm about to watch the tutorial video.
I want to continue using automatic targeting but still would like to see the range and speed of target, is there any way to do this?

As far as I understand how the mod works with manual targetting OFF, no.
This mod is intended for manual targetters and provides new tools for getting range and speed, replacing the previous notepad. These tools do not work with manual targetting OFF, so you are left quite without any mean of getting these target information. However you are still able to:
- ask you Watch Officer to get range and bearing to target (when on surface),
- estimate the speed of target using the clock method (described in film-manual),
- get exact course, speed and AOB data using manual plotting method (Wazoo' manual targetting methods (http://www.hnsa.org/doc/uboat/index.htm)).
