View Full Version : A question about the deck gun in GWX2.0
Hi all,
this is probably a stupid question, but here goes...
I am in a VIIb, and I beleive I should have a deck gun to use. However, when I go to man it, it shows no ammo. What am I doing wrong?
Cheers,
Wibbs

Hello Wibbs
You have to left clic on the ammo symbol on the right and you will see all the ammos loadind (220 i think).
Good hunting

Wibbs, I had the same problem at first. Then I realized that GWX doesn't automatically load up a default shell like stock SHIII did. You have to click on the picture of the shell type you want to load, then it will work the way you expected.

Forget to tell you that you have to add crew to your deck gun first and after that you go to you your external view of the gun and left clic on the ammo symbol.
Good luck:D

Many thanks, have just sunk my first cargo ship with the deck gun - over 5000 tonnes :D

:o how many rounds, I am out on patrol in late '39 and I only use the gun on stuff that is less than 2000t. We sunk a Pelagic 850t with about 6 well placed rounds.
I am using GWX 2.0.

If you aim for the waterline you can sink them without using too much ammo.

*Cough* Well I was only experimenting.......*whisper*25.....*Cough*
Heh, that'll teach me to be cocky - was busy shelling another cargo and a destroyer came steaming in from nowhere. Nearly got Depth charged to death but managed to sneak away...

 ...good shooting!
That is a pretty good return for 25 rounds from the old 88.
I just do not have the patience to do that on the large stuff. Plus even in late '39 we had some unexpected company show up to drop some DC/Bombs on us as we were chasing down a MED CARGO, in broad daylight, East of SCAPA.
GWX 2.0 is just too good!:sunny:
