I'm on my 2nd patrol out of Willy's Haven and on the way out to sea a mine layer AND a patrol boat both run straight into land and explode :hmm: On my first patrol only a mine layer did that ...
Has anyone else seen of noticed this and if so whats the problem ..
If this continues the Limys won't have to worry about sinkin' any Axis shippin' as they'll do it all on their own ...
I hate to mention this as I've had this thought about the problem ...
Are there more then 1 Bernard ... :o

I believe there is a bug in SH3 which happens when you save and reload a patrol in port or very close to port. On reload surface vessels lose their waypoints or something like that and just crash into things and blow up. To be on the save side always save at least 100km's out to sea.

Stock bug problem, caused mainly as a esult of vessels losing their waypoints after a game save quite close to them. They then proceed to carry on in a straight line, oblivious to what is in their path.
Vessels can also 'drift' due to adverse weather conditions when close to jettys etc.

Yup, a bug problem. I've had it happen to me on a few occasions.

Yup. Had it happen on the way out of Lorient. Brand new patrol that I hadn't saved yet. I was watching a patrol boat (closely, since it was right on my bow). It veered to starboard so I popped down to look at the map for a moment. When I came back to the tower I was just in time to watch him burst into a ball of flames on the shore.
RIP, valiant patrol boat crew who were assigned to a blind skipper.

Just imagine it as a navigation error and/or a rudder failure :yep:

...or you can just blame Bernard for it somehow.:D
