now im sure all of you have your favorite hunting zones, i know i do, i just love picking up lone merchants off the western coast of great britan, i would just like to know what my fellow kaptains consider their favoured hunting grounds. some will probably be obvious, but there may be some busy shipping lane that is not well known.

so if you could, state your favorite hunting area and the reasons for it being your favorite.

Danke fellow kaptains, good hunting!

On GWX 2.0 I prowl in the old Tanker Alley (BF39?). One still finds tankers there despite BBWs efforts to make things difficult. Good area for convoys, too.

Also good hunting on the northern side of Gulf of Cadiz. Stalking the Freetown convoys is excellent sport, too. :D

200km west of Gibraltar for convoys entering and exiting the Med. :arrgh!:

I have two:

BE3x --> BF1x The area between Ireland, Great Britain and France where convoys regularly show up just on the line where it gets real deep... I decided to never again make an attack run in shallow water again :shifty:

the other is also at Gibraltar... it is like a funnel where the convoys have to go throu ... and I am waiting for them like a funnel spider in her hideout :smug:
though it gets tricky... that prey starts getting theeth and claws and fights back ('end '41 early '42)

depends on where I had made my patrol and how many torps are left etc.

Freetown is also a good hunting ground as there seems to be less chance backup appears but it is just too far for my VII

Kaluens,

DL67-69. Merchants bottleneck off of Cancun. Many unescorted ships passing through the strait. Not too mention Tanker convoys coming out of the gulf. :arrgh!:

Between Scapa Flow and Lerwick, there and just west of the channel through there. It's a good early war zone although since GWX2.0 some more zerstorers have been showing up there, but otherwise it's primarily merchies  Only trouble is the weather is usually rubbish!

Area just Southwest of Holyhead.

Lots and Lots of convoy spawning action.

Since GWX2 has come out, it seems like there are bigger ships in those convoys than there used to be...

The coast off the north of Scotland is a favourite of mine, always get single merchant traffic there in the early part of the war (39 to early 40).

I keep away from shallow water since I was beaten up badly

I've discovered the western half of the English Channel to be rather fruitful in targets early in the war. Also not many patrols there in 1939 or 1940. Plus if you get there in the late part of September in 1939, go to Plymouth and you'll catch Hood, but it's kind of tricky to get it to sink.
