I don't see the Realweatherfix.zip in there. Only the NYGM Weather report.:hmm:

If you are using GWX2, do NOT use RealWeatherFix mod.

As Blacklight said, nothing there, only the pdf file!:-?

There is a problem with RealWeatherFix and GWX 2.0, so Stiebler has taken the file down. He is currently working with the GWX team to resolve the problem so it should be back up in a few days--hopefully!
RWF works with all previous versions of GWX, however.

Rats!
Well, I hope you get it sorted out, since I decided GWX 2 is the GWX for me, but I would like to do something other than spend 4 weeks in the "perfect storm"! :)

The problem with GWX2 - RealWeatherFix mod lies in the fact that I was testing with the wrong file scene.dat for GWX2. The real one is *twice* as long! As a result, maximum buffer size allocated in the mod was too small for GWX. The GWX-2 file is an incredible 905 Kbytes. The cause of the problem was that the GWX-2 file was being truncated. [So why not use a dynamic buffer size? Static buffer sizes are normally much more robust.]
I've fixed this problem - trivial enough - and am testing now. The GWX-2 file loads uneventfully now.
A single patrol from Kiel with GWX-2 was also uneventful.
Apologies to all GWX-2 users for my blunder. A replacement mod 'RealWeatherFix2.zip' will be available from the previous filefront address by the end of today (UK time).

Will this work with GWX 1.3?:D

I have been using SH3Weather for some time now. How do these mods compare and are they compatible with SH3? Would I need to remove SH3Weather before using these new mods?:shifty:

I have placed 'RealWeatherFix2.zip' mod on File Front.

I've tested this with GWX-2 and NYGM, and completed a single patrol with both uneventfully. The mod certainly should work with earlier variants of GWX, since the original RealWeatherFix mod was successful.
Problem (with GWX-2) solved! (I hope).

Thanks. I am looking forward to trying it on my next patrol.
I wonder what it will feel like playing SH3/GWX2 without having to stock up a dramamine before leaving France? :)

I've just tried it and am getting the message "maximum buffer size (1.5MBytes) of RealWeatherFix exceeded. Cannot use this version of programme. :hmm:

I was able to run the program without a problem, but did it the JSGME way. So, I have yet to start a new patrol and install the mod.
The fix appears that it is implemented as a DOS program. So, possibly if you play around with some of the DOS properties of the executable you can fix that error.

Mod run without any problem with GWX2.0 and SH3CMDR;
"jimbuna I've just tried it and am getting the message "maximum buffer size (1.5MBytes) of RealWeatherFix exceeded. Cannot use this version of programme. "

Jimbuna is using the scene.dat file from the forthcoming GWX 2.1, which is much larger than the corresponding file in GWX-2.0. This will be fixed (either by me or by the GWX team) and installed actually in the mod, so no GWX user will need an enhanced version of the 'RealWeatherFix' for the 2.1 update.
Users of GWX-2: no need for alarm. RealWeatherFix2 works perfectly well with your existing installation, as several users have already confirmed.
Users of stock SH3, NYGM or other large mods: also no need for alarm.

Correct sir.....I ran it in one of the 2.1 test installs for 10 mins (most of my spare time is obviously earmarked for testing the forthcoming release)....Upon exiting, the game 'clashed' with the SH3 Commander prompt and interfered with the 'rollback' option.
I'm posting this in an effort to assist you for any changes you may deem necessary (if any are in fact needed)........Back to the 2.1 test centre http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif

Hmmm, tried the weather fix..followed the simple readme instructions. I cant even load a mission. I can load the base interior and use everything but I go the patrol loading screen, the bar moves a lil bit and locks up... using GWX2 and torp mod and skin mod thats it. :hmm:

Are you talking about a single player mission or a campaign? RWF only works for campaigns at present.

Career/Campaign ...is there anything else?
No biggie ..just did a clean reinstall of everything ..I'll try the weather thing out another time. :hmm:

@Hanomag:
Sounds like you are using the original RealWeatherFix with GWX-2.
This caused exactly the problem you described, and I withdrew the original mod. It has been replaced for the past day or so with RealWeatherFix2 mod, which works fine with GWX-2. Download it from my signature, below.

TeddyBar....
Stiebler, did you use to have an account on here under the name "Der Teddy Bar"? If so, I remember you from my lurking days, good to see you on SHIII :up:
