hello, i just joined up after buying SH 4 and i ran into a couple problems even after getting the 1.4 update. i was having a problem where i would start up a room on ubi, and my friend said my latency was at 999, then after looking around for solutions i called my internet provider and they walked me through some stuff with my new router (never had a problem with online gaming before i got this router, i am directly hooked up to it with a laptop as satallite.) now i can start and join games just fine, and my friends can join my rooms, but after about 5-15 seconds my internet crashes and the game discontinues. then after i close out of the game, my internet reestablishes connection. i am out of ideas, and was hoping someone here ran into the same problem, and found a fix. thanks either way.

Does it work fine with other internet games? I've had something like this occur on my laptop before.

well at 1st after i got the router, none of my games would play online, then i contacted my internet provider, and the guy there walked me through some stuff with the router, and now my other games work online, and SH 4 doesnt have a latency of 999 anymore. now the problem is when i start room it crashes my internet. its the only game i have a problem with now. the friend mentioned in the OP can play in others rooms, and start his own room with no problems. so the problem has to be on my side. any ideas? what was the deal with your laptop?

i have no problems with singleplayer whatsoever. its just MP.

i hate bumping my own threads, but not being able to play MP is driving me nuts. i can host games and join games, but only for a few seconds, i get knocked offline if i host, but i dont when i join, it just says i disconnected after a few seconds.......anyone heard of this?

Do you have XP?

It might be XP's firewall things messing with it, which was what the case was with me.
