Hello,

I dont understand.
I did 8 patrols for a total of around 15000 tons of shipping sunk.
I've got around 2000 reputation so far.
I've the 2 iron cross.
We are in 1940, january
1rst flottila (Kiel), just moves to 3rd (Whilemshaven)
and...

I can't promote my petty officers.
I never had a medal to distribute to my crew
I'm stuck with that ol'UIIa, that I appreciate but is somewhat limited in its abilities, I can't éven choose a type D one.

Just is it a normal career or did I miss something ?

SH3 + GWX2.0 + SH3cmdr 2.7.0.130 (realistic career, historic U-boat availability, realistic crew transferts) - 77% realism

Thanx 4 the reply.

I think, transfer away from that flotilla and you should be able to acquire other types of boats. To be sure, make a new dummy captain and start a new career. Read the description of the various flotillas available. Some use type VII exclusively, while some use both type VII and IX. However, type II is only used by the 1st Flotilla if I remember correctly, or atleast almost all other flotillas don't use it.

With only 2000 renoun, it is going to be a bit tough. With 8 patrols under your belt, and starting with 500 renoun, that means about 200 renoun per patrol - not a whole lot.

I wonder if you are not getting neutrals or something?

Anyway...sounds to me like you are not getting enough ships sunk, which will be hard to do with the sub type you have.

Agree with changing flotillas...get a larger vessel when you shift and with more fish, more kills and better stuff...

You can also look into using SHCmdr to promote your folks...that can work too.

8 patrols and only 2000 renown points gained? Something is wrong there...
As far as promoting your crew, make sure they have the necessary experience, that means that the green exp bar should be full in order for you to be able to promote that guy.
