Should I purchase the SHIII from D2D and then burn it to a dvd, or buy it from Amazon as a DVD, and pay about the same as the D2D version through shipping?

Honestly, my money is on D2D. I had some issues with it in the past, but I was contacted by the assistant manager, and he was very helpful in fixing everything. The newest version through them doesn't include any tricky installs like in the past. It appears to be the contents of the DVD, which you can easily burn to a DVD as a backup.
Plus, no DVD needs to be in the drive, so you can file the DVD away somewhere until you need to re-install.:arrgh!:
Buy the DVD from Amazon through SubSim so Uncle Neal gets a little bit for the site here.:yep:

Hmm, thats a good point. although, if I were to buy the game for like 7 dollars new, I dont think he'd get much hm.
Every little bit counts. It would also help show Amazon's marketing department that they do get sales through SubSim.:yep:

I was planning on getting SHIV through bestbuy down the street, but since I wont get my new computer for a week, I might as well also order that through the subsim amazon page.

Good lad.....support SubSim
Nice thing about D2D is no Starforce and it is updated to the latest patch if i remember correctly. Plus i burn it to DVD and include GWX on it, so it is all together on one disc.
Tool.

If I'm getting it for a Vista, would it be easier to get the D2D version?

This is my second D2D game, and I really like it. I love the freedom from tracking down a DVD every time I want to play. I burn the image to a DVD for emergency purposes, then never look at it again.
Of course, the Amazon/Subsim relationship kind of skews this case, but I already had the game before I discovered Subsim. Otherwise I'll go D2D for any game that I can.
