Council orders fish and chip shops to put fewer holes in salt shakers in new health drive
A generous sprinkling of salt is as much a part of the traditional fish-and-chips experience as a splash of vinegar.
But in these health-conscious times, it was never going to be long before the nation's chippies came under pressure to change. To cut the amount added, a council has come up with a novel, and extremely simple, solution - cut the number of holes in the lids of salt shakers.

And the January award for being a brain dead ass hole goes to Rochdale council in Greater Manchester for being thicker than pig sh*t.
Less holes means you spend more time at the counter shaking the salt over your chips and when you get home you can add more salt. What a bunch of dick heads they are.
Have they got a fecking brain cell between the lot of them? No they fecking have not, bunch of nob heads.

Yeah.. that's great...
Considering that I have a health condition that requires me to pretty much injest a metric ton of salt each day. This will mean that I'll have to shake that salt shaker an extra five minutes over my food each meal !:stare:

I go in on occasion to ask dumb questions and listen to the young guys sales pitch:
"Can I interest you in...."
"No thanks, already got it"
We have a new .....coming out on the market soon"
"No thanks, already got it" ;)
The best question is this. What size is your penis?
This throws those spotty young twits off track and they walk away. ;)

Why edit that one? You were pretty free with the others.
I'm not trying you make you do anything; but I would certainly appreciated it if you would tone down the language.

"We had a chat with one of the staff on the Healthcheck hotline and he explained that for their £40 punters get their PCs or laptops screened for viruses and advice on deleting unnecessary files, and that's it really."
I feel stupid asking this but just what is a "punter"?
:hmm:

lmfao
ok, ok. We can have less holes in salt shakers, so long as the councilors agree to have more holes in their heads? Evidently there is still some vestige of brain matter that hasn't yet leaked out of their ears onto the floor.
I've got a long metal spike and my own transport... 200 quid per hole, plus expenses ofcourse :rotfl:
RickC, a 'punter' is slang for customer. Some might equate the term as something slightly less than 'mark' but not quite as fully respected as 'customer', implying some sort of mild scam. Perhaps.
Though the word 'punter' itself most likely derives from the word 'punt' meaning a flat bottomed boat propelled with a long pole. Can also be used to describe someone who gambles or the act of betting itself - 'I had a punt on the horses' or 'you get punters at the betting shop' etc. Gamblers.
Also used to describe a drop-kick in rugby, where you kick the ball before it hits the ground.

RickC, a 'punter' is slang for customer.
Back in Australia the word 'punter' is slang and often used to descibe a gambler such as someone who goes to the races or the dog track. Indeed our Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting is nicknamed Punter because he likes a punt or a gamble and he owns and races greyhounds. :know:

Not me Steve old chap it was edit by the forum filters, the word was rick spelled with a silent p.
If the amount of holes is the problem, why not make them shakers like this:

They can't possibly argue with that..
