Does anyone else think they shouldn't have even considered touching the old Doctor Who theme when they remade the series?
The old theme still raises the hairs on my neck :dead:

Have never gotten to see the new series. I have almost every original episode available of the original. They redid the theme twice, but with the same basic song.
Does the new series have a different tune?

Its edited to cater for the 'modernisation' of the series. It still has the "Booowooooowoooooooooo" but only just

Do we have any full 100% conformation that Davros is back in the fourth series next year?

Nothing definite but a toy company in the Uk just announced it's 2008 toy line up and Davros just happens to be in it, so take from that what you want.

Sounds like a yes, I heard it going to be a slam bang ending to season 4 as DT is doing stage work in 2009 so there's only going to be three or four specials before his return in 2010.

I wish they actually sold "Doctor Who" toys in the US. I would SO buy one of those remote control Daleks that says "EXTERMINATE !!!" If I were to buy one and have it shipped to the states, it would cost a rediculous ammount of cash !
Sadly, 90% of Americans have no clue what Doctor Who even is and when I show people here episodes of it, I get a lot of eye rolling and grief.:nope:
I think it's the fact that in the old episodes, they tried to do science fiction special effects and pretty much told the audience to kind of close their eyes and imagine the effect.:rotfl:
We're LUCKY to get the new Doctor Who series here in the US on the Sci-Fi channel (Albeit we're a year behind in episodes). I really liked the nineth Doctor, the current one doesn't do a lot for me and still has to grow on me. Tom Baker will always be my man.
I want my remote control Dalek !!!!!! Do you hear me American retailers !?!:stare:

We have a PBS station here in the Puget Sound area that faithfully shows Doctor Who episodes every Saturday night for going on twenty years now. Once they work all the way through 'em to the present they go back to the 1960s black and white pilot episodes and start all over again.

My ex girlfirend's father (who is a mega packrat to the point where his entire house is basically like walking through a canyon with little pathways weaving in between the stacks of stuff going to the cieling), has on VHS tapes of EVERY release Dr. Who episode ever made. Even some of the supposed "lost episodes" that he got through a friend from the BBC YEARS ago. He has it all cataloged and stacked on bookcases that span several walls of his basement. I'd have watched them if anyone could get to them (Imagine the scene at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but a LOT MORE CLUTTERED.).
Tom Baker will always be my man.
Right on.

IMO the new theme is pretty good, it has many of the elements of the old one still. The original theme though is timeless a real classic. I think its the best TV theme ever produced mainly due to its inovation and the fact that it doesn't date at all for comparison take the original Star Trek theme; pure 60s kitsch.
