While I can understand the sentiment to an extent, I can't help but fear that this will only grow into something much nastier in the near future...

It derives from the very massive confrontation in cologne where they want to built the largest mosque in europe that should even be as big, better: bigger, than the famoius dome of cologne. Not only are 1800 new, additional mosques are in planning or under construction, almost always against the bitter but ignored resistance of the local populations, no, this one is a fight with high symbolic value at stake, cologne has a certain important role in the history of christianity in europe, and wanting to built a mosque as big as the dome illustrates the demand of Islam being seen as totally equal if not superior to the christian dominance in this ex-Christian culture. Towers are and have been absolutely THE symbol of ruling and domination throughout history, that is why many mosques over here try to raise minarets of heights that make them the most dominant building in their area of the town (in Berlin for example two other cases like this are cooking on, both are huge mosques in themselves, but they want to have minaretts that make them a most dominant landmark in the regions of Berlin where they are located). Massive funding for these projects come from our tolerant friends and trustworthy allies, the Saudis. Who else. and yes, it is the same Saudis who run academies and cenrtes in Germany that are rated by our constitutional secret service as being operating against our constitutional order. They are invaders with intentions to take over this place from within, nothing else.

In Cologne it was the first time when it was becoming evident that rightwinged groups tried to hijack the goal of citizen's groups confronting the mosque-building by trying to make these right groups and Nazis the lawyers of local population and defend them against islam . Since some time it has been copied in other cities as well, and since some months there was the observation of a developement towards unifying these split, local efforts by rightwingers to abuse the anti-Islam mood and form one greater front that not only confronts islam, but also propagates Nazism by that, using the fight against Islam as a vehicle only.

Of course that is a very bad thing. even before this walking and screaming excrement showed up on demonstrations, you were being called a Nazi in mutlicultural" germany when you were not welcoming islam with open arms, but now that accusation has become substance in so far that you now need to look twice before welcoming an anti-islam activist - you do not want to kick out Islam just to let Nazism in. you want to kick out and get rid of both - nazism AND Islam.

So, obviously this bad developement does some very serious damage that actually will help islam, and earn it sympathies for being seen as a victim of Neonazi opposition only, no opposition by reason, knowledge and logic. Also it makes it easier for lefties and politicians in general to preach in favour of germany embracing Islam.

Bah. Both Nazis and Islam make me want to vomit, and politicians anyway. To hell with all. they are so similiar in their lacking intellectual abilities and absence of reason and their deep intolerance for everything that is not themselves. In a way it is fair to say that both enemies have deserved each other. Now throw in some bible-swinging Christian fundamentalists as well, and the band of total idiots would be complete - the ball of the vampyres, so to speak, danse macabre. Bah. :nope: :shifty:

Would be interesting to see how easy it would be for a German church to fund a christian church in Saudi Aradia? A really big one, something like St Pauls in London.:hmm:

The Saudis wouldn't allow it to be built. Hence much of the problem.
