About 10 years ago I went to visit a couple of friends who were staying at a YMCA hostel for a few weeks.
In the reception area there was this cubicle where a dude would sit and check people in and out.
Anyway, at around midnight, I and a friend went to leave, only to discover the main entrance doors locked and the cubicle locked and empty.

Empty that is except for one of these:

We panicked, seeing as we couldn't leave the building and were on the verge of calling the police when cubicle guy appeared.
Confronted by our less than calm demeanour regarding the 'bomb' he promptly fell about laughing...
Apparently it was a stage prop from the YMCA theatre in the building next door.
