Figured I would try a second 44 career this one up in Trondheim and ignoring orders to patrol BE I went north by Bear Island and waited.

I missed a convoy so chased it.

Bad move.

Before I got close the lookouts spotted Sie Ameikaneren Schwein but the cowards weren't looking for a fair fight they were lining up like a bunch a beer drinkers at a sporting event waiting to pizzz on me.
I fired my one home boy and it could not catch the charging DE which went right over me but I turned into him to get under the hedgehogs then watched as my own homi came right at the periscope.
I have never been so close to a torpedo in all my SH3 years it went right over the AA gun.
The yank turned around and started another pass and as it was almost on top of me homi did his thing but while it hurt him even stopped him he did not go down and his buddied were making one run after another blasting me to a frozen hell.
I did not take long.

Not having a chance seems real from what I have read but I am hoping I can find some way to survive in one of these.

Oh its 'doable.'

Attack at early dawn or late dusk.

Then get deep after the first spread.

DO NOT hang around and wait for the pretty explosions.

Dont chase
Wait for another one and be in front

Sadly I do know you are both absolutely correct and did not do so.

Actually I was trying to make an end around out of radar range but the convoy zigged and by the time I knew it the parade had already formed on my 20.

Having spent much time in flight sim work I know how things become geared to building and I determined I would not get involved with any more "work" and be selfish and enjoy for myself in my U-boat.

I hope you have not "advanced" to the point of being able to regress into enjoying SH3 GWX2.

Yes, I can start a new career and take the knowledge from the bottom of the sea back to port.

My new motto is don't do anything.
That is find a place to hide and if something crosses my path kill it and head for deep water ASAP with no reloads. No maneuvering just silently sitting and waiting.

We shall see if I can be patient enough but after two quick thrashings I am not so anxious to feel the whip a third time.

That is a $64,000 question.

Methinks we are about to find out.:-?

Once you know too much about a system... it is hard to divorce yourself of the code and testing mindset.
